The high school basketball season is right around the corner in the state of Arkansas. Before the season tip-offs, I wanted to preview every division of every conference in the state. These will have player breakdowns, coach quotes, and more. It should be noted that almost all the stats, such as records or returning players, are from MaxPreps/Scorebook Live. I say this because records on scorebook live are not 100% accurate. With that being said, let's hop into conference 2A-6.

Wilson was a key piece of a deep Barton backcourt last year. The new year brings a new role. Wilson is 2 way facilitator who can lead an offensive being the ball-dominant guard. On the ball, he's a solid playmaker out of the drive, being able to kick it back out on the perimeter or to the post. When off the ball, Wilson has shown he can hit the three-ball. As he gains more confidence in a bigger role, Wilson will continue to hone his skills, making him an even more dynamic player.

Kolby Walker is a player that has been getting praise, popping up on conferences watchlists and such. Going into his junior season, what does he mean to the overall success of the team? - "Kolby Walker really improved during his Sophomore year. He was our team's leading rebounder and second leading scorer. He brings a level of toughness to our team that is valuable. I look forward to seeing him in action this season, as he has worked very hard to improve since last season."

What's one area you think this year's team has improved most from last year? - "We will be a very young team this year, but this group likes to compete. I think our overall athleticism has improved as well. I know we will need it to compete every game on the boards in this new conference."

Coach Q/A

Going into the new season, what areas has this team made the most improvements in? - "Last year every day the team was learning something new. Terminology, offenses/defenses, set plays, expectations, standards. It really took us the whole year to settle in. This year the biggest improvement will be our familiarity with each other and our team. We return 10 players from last year, add 5 sophomores who played for the JH as well. Returning that many guys, combined with the amount of games and time spent in the gym this summer, is gonna drastically change our starting point when we start playing games. Our guys understand how we are trying to play, what we expect from them each day, and how we believe we can be successful."

Jaxon plays well through the Des Arc offense, efficiently choosing his opportunities to score. Mainly playing on the wing, Craig is good at finding open spots on the perimeter. He's a great shooter off the catch and even showed some deep range throughout last year. Craig is a pass-first guard but has a skilled offensive game that he'll get to display more this upcoming year.

Davis is a great shooter whether he's with the ball or not. He's got good shot IQ, not someone who'll shoot anything if he's made a few. He's also a very sneaky defender on the help side, constantly disrupting opposing players' drive attempts.
