2028 Risers and Newcomers at Academic Showcase

This was a promising group of newcomers from the class of 2028 from the recent Academic Showcase in San Francisco August 8-9 at St. Ignatius College Prep.    He's an up and coming prospect, good size and wingspan with a frame to build up. He's a bit raw but does show a willingness to try things whether it's in the post or out along the perimeter. He has good activity inside going after rebounds, changing shots,he defends the post position. He'll handle a bit, and pass along the perimeter, shoot open 3's.     A high energy two sport athlete (Football) plays hard on both ends of the court. Good speed, handles kind of shifty with the ball he has court vision, willmove the ball along. A solid body to handle the bumps attacking off the dribble, had a couple of drives across the lane going left for 2pts. He pulled up for short jumpers. He helps rebound, can go coast to coast. He has the footspeed, lateral movement and energy to be disruptive on defense.     He's a good defender, has the size and strength to defend on ball and off. He can stick to shooters, but comes off ball to help. He goes hard off the dribble, plants two feet, plays through contact. He has good lift on the paint jumpers. He's a ball mover, a court runner. An improving prospect.     He's raw with quick twitch muscles, fast. He has the tools to elevate his game, and be a productive contributor. He seems most effective on the move with ball in hands, attacking defenders. He gets into the paint, challenges blockers, has a floater. He's quick on the pull up jumper, fast going up court with the ball. He has the has the tools to be a good defender, and contributor, but will have to lock in.     Plays within his skill set, doesn't force things but will drive through open lanes to the basket, and shoot open jump shots, hit a few paint jumpers, used a dribble to hit a mid-range he has 3-point range. He scored on cuts to the basket, coming across the lane and transition layups. He'll get a rebound, has effort on defense.
