PrepHoopsTN Combine EAST Evals
In this article:
The eighth annual @PrepHoopsTN Combine featured ambitious, young hoopers, aged 15-17 years old. For the rest of the summer, we will be featuring the campers with evaluations and measurements from the day, May 31st, 2026. This was the first time the event took place inside Notre Dame High School (Chattanooga). To be precise these campers attended the PrepHoopsTN EAST camp.

Good guard height. Petty measured nearly 6-foot-4 with a wingspan of 6-foot-5. That makes him one of the tallest guards in the region. In the long-term Jack must get bulkier and fill out. He is midway through high school and generally now is the time that slim guys can start to hold weight…after they finish growing taller. Shooting is better than average. Bounce is just below. Altering his speed will help him challenge defenders more. Jack is patient offensively, but defenders will try to speed him up and rush him as he ascends. That is something he needs to be prepared for. Petty recorded a promising sprint time (3.30 seconds).

Elite shooter. High release point. Good guard height. Caleb took a bump and finished in the All-Star Game. For a 2029, Murray truly has no glaring weaknesses. Like every underclassman he can and should really hit the weights. Durability already appears to be a strength. Murray demonstrated enviable endurance too.

Scrappy. Instinctively immediately passed to the open man each time. Point guards who like to pass are perfect offensive weapons. They tend to make teammates better. Wingspan is 6'2", a smidge wider than he is tall (6'0"). Powell measured large hands for a guard (9.5" span). Shooting touch was better than camp average.

Big, strong player. Surprisingly quick for his size. Shoots a high ball that is tough to block. Uses his physicality very well. Played above the rim occasionally. Not that he can't, but I would like to see Jamere become a terror as an offensive rebounder. All of the physical attributes are there for this role. Great bounce. Explosive around the rim. Rebounds well, but could even be an elite rebounder on both ends with his physical gifts.

Gavin can play either guard position. Solid shooter. Loves to make the flashy pass. Though he can and did make fancy passes he was so effective and never turnover prone. There is a smoothness, an east to Gavin's game. Tough defensive rebounder. He used his body well to hold position against bigger rebounders. Really good basketball mind. Fun to watch. It would be nice to see him operate within a high school system, so that is the hope for me in the fall/winter.

Crafty. Innovative with the attack. He scored in a lot of different ways. He rebounded high with two hands. Based on his PrepHoopsTN Combine showing Walker will generally be the quickest leaper throughout his high school days. Defensively, Jarris got a touch lazy when matched up against a jet-quick guard in the day's final game. Fouls pile up on lazy defenders.
