High Academic Showcase First 5: 2027 Standouts

The Attitude of Gratitude 2026 NORCAL High Academic Showcase was held Saturday and Sunday, August 8-9 at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, CA. 100 athletes, 10 teams, 2 courts. This event is meant to bring attention to high academic prospects in Northern California looking to showcase their game in front of DII, DIII, NAIA, and JUCO coaches. College coaches ran the skills and drills stations, and coached the games. These 5 high academic prospects from the Class of 2027 should get a good look from DII, and DIII High Academic College Programs.    4.02 GPA. One of the most consistent point guards in NorCal. He led his team to multiple league championships, first team honors and league MVP. He's battle tested from the UA Circuit. He's a bigger, stronger prospect going into his Senior season. He has the tools to run a DII program. He makes good decisions, can control the pace of the game, has excellent court vision, looks to involve others with ball movement, he finds his cutters, shooters, feeds the post. He can put points on the board, and pressure defenses with his improving offensive skill set.     3.83 GPA. He showed himself to be a legitimate DII or DIII prospect his one day at the event (Saturday). We've seen Garcia raise his level of play throughout the Spring and Summer. Standing 6'6 has good movement on the court, can be effective from different areas on the court. He has decent handles, ball movement. He has a jump shot from mid-range out to the 3-point line, shoots 3's better than we thought. He can work the boards, a solid body to get paint points.     3.9 GPA, Rice plays within the flow. He's a do it all type of prospect on most of the teams he plays for. Standing 6'4 he has guard like handles, excellent court vision, a willing passer. He can attack off the dribble from multiple areas, hit the mid-range, has 3pt range. He's tuned up his body, good court movement, looks stronger and willing to be aggressive knowing he can put points on the board. He's rebounding better, handling the ball in transition, and up top making good decisions.     3.34 GPA. He's a good fit for DII, DIII programs. His best days are ahead. He's bulked up a bit, looks stronger, still has room to grow his body and get stronger. Standing 6'4, he's still sharpen his overall skill set. He's playing with confidence putting up 3's, using his dribble drive to attack the basket from different areas. He gets good lift off on his mid-range jumper. He's a capable ball handler, moves the ball, up and around the perimeter. He's an experienced prospect, ready for a breakout season, consistency will be key.     GPA 3.2 Parrot had a good day on Saturday. He continues to showcase his skill set away from the basket when he's playing club ball, and at events like this. He gets to handle, pass, and attempt to create his opportunities working from the perimeter. With a solid body and decent handles he's going hard and strong to the basket. He does have 3-point range, can knock down free throw jumpers. He's gained valuable experience with passing and footwork working from the mid to low post with his high school team. He's a rebounder, can score inside.
