2028 Watch: Five Prospects Turning Summer Runs Into Momentum

The summer circuit has a way of exposing which rising prospects are ready for bigger roles, and this group has given evaluators plenty to like. We are always tracking stock riser standouts who deserve attention for their production.    Ware has quietly put together the type of summer that gets a prospect moved up the board. The shifty guard averaged 12 points during Session 3 of UA Rise and showed why his name belongs in the conversation when the updated 2028 rankings come out later this month. He has a strong handle, plays with toughness, and can create his own shot or knock down catch-and-shoot opportunities from deep. Ware also has a creative side around the basket, using changes of direction and body control to finish through traffic. Defensively, he brings real value as an on-ball defender and competes possession after possession. The basketball IQ is noticeable, and his ability to score and distribute gives him plenty of ways to impact a game.     From Moanalua to Niceville, LeBaron has looked like a player ready to make himself known in North Florida. The explosive guard has been productive throughout the offseason, showing the ability to create offense regardless of where the defense tries to push him. He can get downhill and finish at the rim, pull up in the midrange, or step behind the arc when defenders give him space. His offensive confidence has been a major part of his summer, and he's consistently put pressure on opposing defenses. LeBaron's ability to create shots without needing a perfect setup makes him a difficult matchup. If this production carries into the high school season, his stock could move quickly.     Petigny brings a physical edge to the guard position that immediately stands out. At 6-3, he has the strength to absorb contact, attack downhill and finish through defenders while also competing hard on the glass. He's more than just a slasher, though. Petigny has shown he can knock down shots from the perimeter and take over ball-handling responsibilities when needed. He can initiate offense, create separation and keep pressure on a defense throughout a possession. The toughness is consistent, and his willingness to compete on both ends gives him a strong foundation as his offensive game continues to develop.     Sawicki's summer has been about making the right play over and over again. The skilled forward doesn't need a high volume of touches to impact a game. He spaces the floor, makes himself available around the perimeter and has the basketball IQ to recognize where he needs to be. His shooting gives him value offensively, while his rebounding instincts allow him to contribute beyond scoring. There's also a level of patience to his game that helps him stay within the flow instead of forcing possessions. That combination of shooting, feel and versatility makes Sawicki a prospect worth tracking as the 2028 class continues to take shape.     Childres-Menser already showed what he could do during the high school season, and the summer has provided another opportunity to prove that production wasn't a fluke. At 6-5, he has the size to create matchup problems while possessing the skill set of a legitimate three-level scorer. He can rise up from deep with a quick release, create space off the bounce and get to his spots in the midrange. When he attacks the basket, his size and athleticism allow him to finish through or over defenders. The scoring package is becoming increasingly complete, and his ability to consistently generate offense should keep his name in the conversation as recruiting attention around the 2028 class picks up.
