2027 Guard Coy Wilkinson is on a visit today

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>6'2 All State guard [player_tooltip player_id='3721781' first='Coy' last='Wilkinson'] from Hartford and the [program_tooltip program_id='2440552' first='Kansas' last='Magic'] is taking a visit today. After a strong 17u season Wilkinson is not starting to think about where he is going to play his college basketball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I'm going on a visit tomorrow (today) to Bethany," Coy told Prep Hoops. "I've gotten quite a few camp invites, I am going to the Washburn one for sure. Right now I'm just looking for a lot of opportunities and options. I really am just looking for a bunch of opportunities and I want to have a bunch of options, obviously both Bethany and Washburn are really good schools and programs, and I am looking forward to visiting both."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coy was a first team all state player in 1A that averaged over 24 points a game and five boards a contest. The 6'2 guard had a big live period showing in Omaha scoring over 18 points a game (90 points total for the event). Coy then scored 62 points across the four games played in the second live period of July (the KC event).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"It went pretty good overall," Coy said of his 17u season. "Very fun group I played with this summer and they always made it enjoyable. May was pretty slow for us but we won a lot of games in July. A highlight  for was going 4-0 in the last KC Live period."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>And the goal is to capitalize on what was accomplished going forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Honestly I just want to keep getting better as a player and keep getting more consistent before the season starts. Keep working on my defense, ball handling, and overall game, and hopefully just have a really good high school season. I'm also looking forward to getting back in the gym with my teammates. Also just put myself in a good position to work hard and eventually hopefully making it to the next level."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A big reason that schools are tracking Coy isn't just his consistency of success but also because of his versatility. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I would say I'm a good ball handler and a solid defender," Coy explained. "I'm a score first guard, but I'm also willing to make the right pass and get my teammates involved. I'm confident in my three ball and mid range pull up, and I'm always looking for opportunities to get boards and get out in transition, while also making an impact on both ends of the court."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wilkinson was first team all state last year and is in position once again to be an elite player or the elite player in his division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
