Wade, Cochran put down MoKan 17u at Peach Jam

Two players from Tennessee (<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade']</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2376260' first='Davis' last='Cochran']</strong>) started and played heavy minutes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Backstory</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075324' first='Brad' last='Beal Elite'] 17u aggressively recruits Nashville, typically bringing in 1-2 of the top players each year. Past hoopers who joined Brad Beal AAU were Trey Pearson and Brandon Miller. They both finished their careers ranked #1 in our rankings. They are allowed to recruit players from state's that touch Missouri. Tennessee does, barely. That is why they get TN guys to bolster their roster and compete against the best EYBL teams. MoKan, for what it is worth does the same thing. They get guys from all over the Midwest because their states touch Missouri.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>NIKE implemented the adjacent state rule when they founded the EYBL. Thankfully. Of course, the rules are abused now, but it used to be cartoonish to see a team from Atlanta starting a kid from California. As both teams are based in Missouri, they are rivals, which made this game more meaningful than a typical Peach Jam game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Game</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade'] </strong>(Brentwood Academy) scored four points in 22 minutes and he helped with five rebounds. He often initiated the [program_tooltip program_id='2075324' first='Brad' last='Beal Elite'] 17u attack and enormous duty for him was defending high-level players. He picked up <strong>Scottie Adkinson</strong> and then some of<strong> Tyson Pogi</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I was pretty much face-guarding [Scottie] a lot of the game," said [player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade']. "Towards the end he hit one really tough three. I was contesting all of his shots. Making him do what he didn't want to do."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Of course, MoKan ran a lot for Scottie regardless and also did many things to free him up. "I was picking up 94'," shared Wade. "They ran a lot of flat ball screens. <strong>Jaylan Mitchell </strong>and Davis [Cochran] helped me so I could recover." </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nobody on the basketball court, especially guards like people in their personal space. It is aggravating and distracting. Adkinson finished with 20 points and yet it was not enough for MoKan.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The hottest name and game in Tennessee, [player_tooltip player_id='2376260' first='Davis' last='Cochran'] scored 11 points, pulled down six rebounds though he battled foul trouble. "Davis played big," said teammate Wade when asked. "He had about three or four dunks that were momentum shifters for us. He defended really well. Blocked a couple of shots in timely moments."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Davis acknowledged the strength and power of MoKan in his exclusive recap with @PrepHoopsTN. He said, "MoKan is very phsysical and they have a lot of sets that keep us moving at all times."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The biggest challenge, as Bryson saw it was, "MoKan's physicality was a big one. They played hard and physical. They made timely shots.
