University of Oregon Team Camp – More Fresh Faces

The University of Oregon held its team camp the final weekend of June, and as always teams from all over the state from all classifications arrived in Eugene ready to compete. We love attending the event every year as it gives us a chance to see some of the teams from Central and Southern Oregon that we don't normally see as often as those from the Portland metro area. As a result we also find a number of prospects that stand out to us for the very first time. Here's a look at some more of the top newcomers that we watched.

Playing for Crater, Flood impressed us at UO Team Camp. The rising sophomore has good size for a guard at 6-foot-3, handles the ball well, and plays with a good feel for the game. In a win over Portland Christian, he shot the ball extremely well, knocking down four threes in posting 14 points. Whether he suits up for the Comets or returns to Phoenix, he'll be a factor next season.

We liked what we saw out of James at UO Team Camp. The rising sophomore guard is an all-around threat on both ends of the floor, showing he could both score and defend at a high level. Offensively, he immediately knocked down an open three upon entering the game and later on, got buckets getting to the hoop. Defensively, he was able to be aggressive with his on-ball D without fouling.

A transfer from Barlow, Robinson made a lot of positive plays for the Royals in a win over Churchill. The rising senior shot it well from the outside, wasn't afraid of going to the hoop against much bigger players, and showed that he is a capable ball-handler and passer. He should be an impact player at Portland Christian in 2026-27.

Playing a bigger role at McDaniel this next season should be Davis, who impressed in a game against Creswell at UO Team Camp. The rising senior combo guard made plays both on and off the ball, showing a soft touch on his jumper as well as aggressiveness attacking off the bounce. He was active on the boards too in registering 15 points and 6 rebounds in a Mountain Lions win.

Arguably the top glue guy we saw all weekend was Beamish. The rising junior already had a physical advantage with his well-built frame and strength, but his non-stop motor made him incredibly difficult to contain. He was relentless on the offensive glass and it led to a number of putbacks. While the raw numbers of 15 points and 8 rebounds were certainly good in a win over The Dalles, his competitiveness and will to win really stood out.
