UAB Elite Camp: Frontcourt Presence, Guard Play, and Shot-Making

UAB Elite Camp gave me a chance to evaluate a strong group of prospects in a competitive setting, and several players found ways to separate themselves with translatable traits. Some stood out through size, rebounding, and interior presence, while others showed shot-making, guard quickness, touch, and scoring feel. Camp settings are about more than just who scores the most points; I am watching how players compete, process the game, impact possessions, and show pieces that can travel to the next level. These were a few players who caught my attention with their production, tools, and future development paths.    Isaiah brings size and length to the floor and stood out with interior production on both ends of the floor. What stood out most was that he was not just taking up space around the rim but he was active on the glass, finished well around the rim and on defense showed enough voice and vision to help organize possessions, which matters for a big because communication is part of controlling the back line. He did more than just be a play-finishing big as he saw cutters, hit the simple outlet, and punish help with the right pass. He is poised and ready for am impactful senior season.     Joseph is a combo guard with a clean and useful scoring prowess from the perimeter. His midi and range from three allows him to serve in a role that translates because shooting keeps spacing honest. He does not overcomplicate the game, as he is ready on the catch, steps into rhythm shots, and punishes defenses for leaving him alone. He brings immediate value as a floor spacer and shot-maker.     KJ is an athletic physical frontcourt value with size, strength, and physical build. He impacts the game across the stat sheet and in areas not seen in the stats. He is active on the glass, pressures the rim, and scores in the paint. His possession work is seen in his screen setting, rolling with purpose, carving out space, and finishing simple plays. He showed intriguing point-forward qualities with solid vision and passing instincts for his size.     Aden is a combo guard who showed his ability to live in the paint with consistent paint-touches. He is a confident scorer inside the arc scoring who showed the ability to get to controlled two-point areas instead of settling or forcing deep shots. He has an understanding of where he wants to get on the floor and how to work himself into scoring pockets. He was a problem in the open court and was always looking to attack and put pressure on the defense.     Elijah is a small guard with quickness, a floater game, and off-bounce shot-making. He was able to get to his spots, use the mid-range, and show three-ball touch. He has a strong scoring profile that allows him to threaten the defense in more than one area. His burst comes with pace control and his quickness is a weapon, a valuable asset in his game as he knows when to slow down, when to attack, and when to move the ball.     Brayden showed his strength to be his three-ball shooting. He is a floor spacer with good preparation, confidence, and repeatable mechanics. His three-point shooting changes spacing, opens driving lanes, and forces defenders to stay attached.
