Top Prep Performers From Summer

Prep play with teams has started its break with the school year on the horizon. Now is the perfect time to reflect on the prep school prospects that stood out this summer and rose their stock or put the hammer down on why they are a top prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Darren Ford - AZ Compass</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The newcomer to the state was one of the most dominant players of the summer. Ford controlled the game on both ends of the court showcasing an all-around game. That balance puts him among the top 20 prospects in the country in the 2028 class. He'll lockdown opposing guards, knock down shots from college range, and slam home physical dunks with the best of them. He can create as the lead initiator and can play off-ball showing off a combo guard skill.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mateen Cleaves Jr - Dream City</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Arguably the top Arizona prospect in the the 2028 class, Cleaves has only continued to get better as the best pure point guard in the state. At 6'4", he possesses a unique advantage showcasing positional size and elite IQ for the position. He's a knockdown shooter from deep and is one of the best passers in the country. He creates in the pick-and-roll game, runs the offense out of set plays and can dish the ball from anywhere on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kur Lual- AZ Compass</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The breakout performer of the summer was Lual who showcased why he is one of the biggest stock risers in the 2027 class. Whether it was at the Pangos All-American Camp, Best In Basketball Summer Invitational, or Section 7, Lual showcased a gifted offensive bag on the wing. He attacks the rim with force and slashes inside with ease using his length and gifted athleticism to finish with ease in the paint. He knocks down catch and shoot threes and shows a smooth skill to knock down the midrange. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Keaundre Morris - Dream City</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cleaves' running mate in the backcourt for Dream City is Morris who is a pure scorer and one of the better shooters in his class. Morris spots up all along the perimeter and is a true knockdown shooter in the catch-and-shoot game. He pulls up in the midrange and hits it consistently with a nice stroke. He's a combo guard that shows really good vision running the floor. Morris is also a secondary creator for his team and shows upside as a playmaker.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wor Wor - Bella Vista</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a two-way standout, Wor Wor showed his skill at Section 7 as one of the better wings in his class. Wor is a longer wing that showcases quality skill and a high motor on both ends of the court. He steps up and guards opposing wings with ease. On offense, Wor pulls up from the mid-range off the dribble and knocks it down. He also shows the skill to hit threes from deep.
