June has come and gone and with it goes arguably the most important and valuable time on the recruiting calendar for college coaches and high school prospects alike. Arizona has become a recruiting hot bed during June with events such as Section 7, but other events such as the yearly Best In Basketball Summer Invitational in Gilbert or out of state events such as Nevada Live attract the top teams and players alike.

Throughout the next couple of weeks, I will be releasing the top prospects I observed during the June live period.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555179' first='Darius' last='Wabbington'] - Sunnyslope

It's not often a high four star/five star prospect is forced to completely change their play style and be okay with it. But Wabbington is the ultimate teammate and willing to do whatever it takes for the team and helps his team win.

Throughout June with starting point guard Delton Prescott out, Sunnyslope turned to Wabbington making him play a similar role to NBA star Nikola Jokic having him playmake, take the ball up the floor, and run the offense from the top of the key. He showed off why he's the best passing big in all of America and he used his handle to create off the dribble and elevated the Vikings offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146239' first='Carsyn' last='Dean'] - Verrado

One of the most prolific scorers in the state showed why he was exactly that all throughout June. Both at Section 7 and at Nevada Live, Dean was one of the leading scorers in both events with multiple 30-plus point outbursts in both events. He scored in every way, he pulled up comfortably from beyond range and attacked the rim with force finishing plenty of tough layups in the process.

Following his transfer from Ironwood should he stay at Verrado, Dean holds all the talent ability to be a 5A conference player of the year contender with his scoring ability which elevates a Verrado team who fits exactly what he wants to do.

[player_tooltip player_id='2297438' first='Oliver' last='Burbach'] - Brophy

Another senior that elevated his game as the competition level rose was Burbach who truly was one of the more exciting players to watch in June. A confident player on both ends of the court, Burbach often asked to take on the role of guarding the opposing team's best player and being the go-to guy on the offensive end of the court.

He has a pure shooting form which allows him to spot up on the perimeter and keep defenses honest as he also showed his ability to pump fake and drive inside. He plays with a physical style that allows him to compete against bigger players and hold his own in the process.

[player_tooltip player_id='2292816' first='Luke' last='Galvanoni'] - Mesquite

One of the more eye opening players I observed during June was Galvanoni at the Best In Basketball Summer Invitational. Each time I've observed him across the last few seasons, he has gotten better from game to game and June was no exception. He is a natural wing with the ability to play as a bigger guard as he shows off his basketball IQ being a great playmaker and passer for the position.

His handle is also tight which allows him to work to getting to his spots without turning the ball over. He likes to set up on the wing and work a crossover to get past a defender and finish at the rim both with a forceful dunk and a finesse layup. He also shows off a nice shot form which lets him be a threat on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386977' first='Kyle' last='Speed Jr'] - Gilbert

Most people assume a player that's described as a "glue guy" isn't exactly the most talented player. But for a player like Speed, he's the ultimate glue guy that impacts the game in every way while being the best player on the court in most cases. He crashes the boards with so much force, likely due to his football background.

That background paired with his gifted athleticism allows him to pull down rebounds over and around most opposing players and he can single handedly run the fastbreak or get it started with nice outlet passes.

Speed defends at a high level and is constantly moving whether it's leaving the paint to jump and contest a shot on the perimeter or setting up on the wing and attacking the rim with a strong finish. It always seems like Speed makes a winning play and finds a way to consistently impact the game.
