We recently updated our 2028 class rankings in Virginia, adding over 25 names in a class that continues to get better it seems like every day. Here's a look at part three of the wings from the Central/Southern/Western areas in the rankings.

#47) Carlos Lanier | 6'1” SG/PG | North Cross

Lanier is more of a combo guard than he is a wing, but at North Cross he plays both guard positions due to a deep backcourt that they have, and he's one of the more intriguing players in the Roanoke area. The 6'1” guard can flat out light it up from deep with range and a quick release off the catch, he can handle it and work in ball screens or isolation to break down defenders, he is able to fill it up from multiple levels and can make plays for others, and he plays with great energy and toughness as well.

#92) Isaiah Jones | 6'2” SG | Madison County

Jones is having a breakout summer with River City Reign after a great sophomore season at Madison County, and one thing that is certain is that he can and will score the ball at a very high clip this next season. A two sport star who shines on the football field he's a big time athlete who can get out in transition and finish through contact, he can light it up from deep off the catch, he works well off the catch and off the bounce to blow by defenders, and he is very good at jumping passing lanes defensively.

#97) Evan Lee | 6'4” SF | Liberty

Lee is a two sport start that also is a standout on the football field, and it's easy to see why when you see the physicality that he brings on both ends of the floor. As a big wing he doesn't shy away from posting up and scoring over the shoulder or using his strength to play through defenders, he attacks the glass hard on both ends, he can stretch the floor and take slower defenders off the bounce, and defensively he can stand up ball handlers and guard multiple positions.

#114) Mekhi Bellinger | 6'1” SG | Skyline

Bellinger is primed for a breakout season this next year at Skyline, as they lose a lot of their top players from last year and he can flat out fill it up in a lot of different ways. He can work off the ball where he reads screens and knows when to curl or come off flat, he can shoot it from deep with range, he can handle the ball and works well in ball screens and pushing in transition, and he can get hot quickly and make tough shots to fill it up in bunches.

#118) Will Ferrell | 6'2” SG | North Cross

Ferrell is part of a very deep North Cross team that should have a chance at getting over the hump to win a state championship, and Ferrell will be an important part if they do. He's what I call a “scoring connector” as he gets a lot of his shots within the flow of the offense, he can create with minimal dribbles and create space to make shots in isolation, he can knock down open shots off the catch, and he isn't selfish and makes the right play consistently.
