Spencer’s Standouts-Section 7-Part 5

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was able to attend the prestigious Section 7 event in Mesa, Arizona. I saw numerous games featuring loads of talent from both the regular and prep school divisions. Here are some of the standouts from the event:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zain Majeed <strong>Mater Dei:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The strong athletic forward showed out during Section 7. He has a nice frame, which allows him to get downhill and finish through contact. He looks like he's trying to dunk everything. He has a fluid three-point shot, which he hits often. He plays hard on the defensive end, which allows him to get out in transition. Zain is going to have a huge July playing in the EYBL.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Javez Coleby <strong>Veritas Prep:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An elite 2029 put his name on the map. He has elite size for being a rising sophomore. He made his mark on defense; he guarded multiple five-stars at Section 7 and held his own. He is very physical, bumping defenders off their line. He gets downhill well and dunks the ball with intensity, and uses his pass fakes extremely well. He crashes the offensive glass hard and gets easy putbacks. Javez is someone whom people should look out for in the next couple of years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2965868' first='Yann' last='Kamagate'] <strong>St. Francis</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The star-studded center continued to prove his case as the number one player in the country. He dunks everything around the basket. When he doesn't dunk it, he has a nice bag of post moves around the rim. He will block everything that comes to the paint and will force opponents to change their shots. He continues to thrive with St. Francis and Compton Magic and will do so throughout July.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3659677' first='Ezekiel' last='Ifejeh'] <strong>CIA-Bella Vista</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The strong-framed forward was scrappy for Bella Vista at Section 7. He used his big, strong frame to carve out space while crashing the offensive glass. Once he secured the rebound, he used his body to his advantage and executed his pump fakes extremely well. On defense, he can stay in front of guards and bigger players. Ezekiel has been a force on the UAA circuit and will continue to do so in July.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1612509' first='Jalen' last='White'] <strong>Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The hyper athletic forward was dunking everything at Section 7. Jalen was moving well off the ball all weekend, which converted into a lot of dunks. He attacks the basket strongly and draws a lot of contact. He can use his frame to guard 1-4 on defense. Jalen will continue to improve his skills throughout the summer and next year.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Mamadou Issa Sow Bella Vista Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The young power forward showcased his potential at Section 7. He has an elite motor and hustles after every rebound. He has elite shot-blocking abilities. Mo continues to show flashes of potential throughout every game. He took the ball coast to coast and finished. He finishes well around the rim and will continue to expand his game. As of today, Mo picked up a West Virginia offer and will only continue to rise nationally as the summer progresses.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
