Day 1 of the National Camp continued to showcase an impressive collection of young talent, with players from multiple age groups stepping forward and making their mark. Whether through relentless effort, advanced skill sets, high-level shooting, or physical dominance, these prospects consistently found ways to impact the game and separate themselves from the competition. Sonny Bumpers | 2031 Sonny Bumpers was one of the most aggressive attacking guards on the floor throughout Day 1. He consistently lived in the paint and put tremendous pressure on opposing defenses with his downhill mentality. His ability to attack gaps and force defensive rotations allowed him to capitalize on breakdowns and create quality opportunities for himself and his teammates. Bumpers showed the ability to generate offense off the dribble while proving capable of scoring from multiple levels. What stood out just as much as his offensive production was his relentless motor. He never quits on plays, competes at a high level on both ends of the floor, and consistently impacts the game in ways that extend far beyond the stat sheet. Karter Potts | 2033 Karter Potts continues to show the traits of a quality young floor general. While he may be undersized, his understanding of the point guard position and ability to run a team were on full display throughout Day 1. Potts does an excellent job organizing the offense, keeping teammates involved, and delivering the ball to the right spots. He plays with poise and confidence while demonstrating a strong understanding of pace and decision-making. His willingness to facilitate and create opportunities for others makes him an effective leader on the floor, while his ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc forces defenses to respect him as a scoring threat. Taylor Young | 2032 Taylor Young established himself as one of the most physically imposing interior players in attendance. His size, strength, and physicality immediately stood out as he consistently controlled the paint on both ends of the floor. Young played through contact with ease, utilizing a powerful “bully ball” mentality to create scoring opportunities around the basket. Beyond his physical advantages, he also showed flashes of a developing skill set that suggests there is significant upside to his game. He was highly productive on the glass, battling for rebounds and creating extra possessions for his team while displaying solid footwork and touch around the rim that allowed him to finish effectively in traffic. Kingston Kauchak | 2031 Kingston Kauchak made his biggest impact by doing what he does best—shooting the basketball. His perimeter shooting was among the most impressive offensive weapons showcased throughout Day 1. Kingston consistently stretched defenses by knocking down shots from beyond the arc, forcing opponents to account for him every time he stepped onto the floor. Whether spotting up, relocating to open areas, or stepping confidently into rhythm jumpers, he displayed the ability to punish defensive mistakes and provide valuable floor spacing for his team. His shooting touch and confidence from long range made him one of the top perimeter threats in attendance. Allen Roberts Jr. | 2030 Allen Roberts Jr. delivered one of the most complete performances of Day 1, impacting the game in nearly every area. His relentless motor, toughness, and willingness to make winning plays consistently stood out throughout the day. Roberts was highly active on the glass, competing for rebounds on both ends while bringing energy and effort on every possession. Offensively, he excels in transition, running the floor extremely well and turning defensive stops into easy scoring opportunities. In the half-court, he proved difficult to contain off the bounce, consistently attacking driving lanes and putting pressure on defenders. His ability to contribute in a variety of ways while impacting both ends of the floor made him one of the most productive and valuable performers of the day. These players continued to separate themselves through their competitiveness, basketball IQ, and ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. As the National Camp moves forward, each of these prospects has positioned themselves as names to continue watching closely.
