After watching several hours of basketball at the Lipscomb Elite Camp I wanted to share a few thoughts while mentioning prospects who are both old and newer to @PrepHoopsTN readers.

In no particular order, these are the players I personally evaluated.

[player_tooltip player_id='2283269' first='Fred' last='Martin'] (2027) | G | Harding Academy

A hulking guard, Fred showed off some feathery shooting touch from multiple points on the floor. Martin's release point is consistent and his scoring surprisingly efficient for a young player. If there is a criticism of his shot, then it is that he does not get off of the ground much when shooting the three-pointer. Maybe I would tinker with that, but the success rate is so high that maybe not. As a ball-handler Fred was learning some new moves, broadening his game. This feet are quick and can be choppy in tight spaces. Martin was clearly better and stronger than almost every guard in the building apart from the camp instructors. He consistently delivered the subtle and perfectly-timed bump before he rose for the layup. Every camper did a Spurs 50 Shot Challenge. Only two campers finished with 35+ makes and [player_tooltip player_id='2283269' first='Fred' last='Martin'] was one of them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2616716' first='Easton' last='Boggs'] (2027) | Wing | Little Rock Christian Academy

Not a Tennessee guy, but when you see a 6-foot-7 wing make shot after shot after shot you pay attention. Easton looks the part of a college basketball player. His feet are quick enough to defend taller wings and forwards in college. Most likely, Boggs will develop strength as a college freshman and play a bunch his second season. His game looks to be NAIA possibly up to Division II. His success rate on the jumper fell off drastically in halfcourt competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2283268' first='Greg' last='Spight'] (2027) | Point Guard | Briarcrest Christian

Two-time State Champion. Greg is the first face I recognized when I scoured the floor. Spight is a known quantity for readers of this publication. Great court vision. His head is always up and his basketball brain always calculating. Greg cut away from the basketball sharply and correctly. Loose balls seem to find his hands. This is no accident. Spight works so hard to scramble for them, treating it like a cornerback treats a fumble. Elite quickness on his pull-up jumper.

Zane Bryant (2029) | Guard | Stewarts Creek

A bit of a silky combo guard. Zane looked adept with the floater and he plays with a natural changing of speed embedded in his driving. Lefty Bryant looks likely to add on a few inches in the coming year(s). Lanky arms. Needs to bulk up eventually.

[player_tooltip player_id='2915655' first='Jayden' last='Varpness'] (2028) | Wing | Donelson Christian Academy

A left-handed 6-foot-5 wing guard. Thin. Broad shoulders. Though he possess nice shooting touch Jayden's pre-shot footwork included a little extra pitter when he flashed out from the inside to the corners. It is a extra half-step that can be eliminated and possibly streamline the release. When he ranged from the wing to the corner the "ghost step" vanished. Perhaps he was just acclimating to a new drill to him. Great height for a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='3662391' first='CJ' last='Snodgrass'] (2028) | Guard | Clarksville Academy

Finished with either hand around the rim. Needs to get faster in the open floor. Should use more legs in his jumper, more of his power. He projects as an off-guard. His best role in the halfcourt at the camp Saturday was as a catch-and-shoot guy or as a recipient on the fastbreak. He was fond of his corner three-pointers. After one make he helped with a block as a defender.
