BIBSI Stock Risers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>June 4th-6th I attended the annual&nbsp;<strong>Best in Basketball Summer Invitational.</strong>&nbsp;It is the premier warm up event for the prestigious Section-7 with 20 Section-7 weekend teams plus others who have a chance to qualify for the weekend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I watched every team 2-3 times and came up with many different categories to place each prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here were the Stock Risers</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2689934' first='Braden' last='Baldwin'] Arcadia</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A breakthru player for the weekend was Braden. He did a little bit of everything with rebounding in his area, blocking shots, collecting steals and scoring every way. He will fill it up with rainbow threes off the catch, downhill buckets, offensive rebound put backs and can take it coast to coast.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3148725' first='Marvin' last='Dobine Jr'] Westview</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A big strong bodied power forward had a nice weekend defending and scoring. He will mostly dominant the paint with counter and spin moves with real contact. He seemed to live on the free throw line all three days and cashed in. He is a strong two-handed rebounder will block shots of his area and occasionally take it coast to coast.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2741030' first='Max' last='Johnson'] Valley Christian (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick and twitchy pure point guard who is very good on-ball defender. He is undersized but plays with a huge motor to compete on both sides of the ball. He is shooting the ball better then ever and his confidence is thru the roof. He is also very athletic for his size.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2680984' first='Jayden' last='Lee'] Hamilton&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger wing forward with great length. He will score with dribble drives after a ball fake, he will grab a ball off the glass and go coast to coast or make a play surprisingly well. He runs the floor for layups, beating his opponent down the floor and will step out and shoot the three. He can rebound and block shots in his area.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2689907' first='Matthew' last='McGadney'] Arcadia</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger guard is their super sixth man and immediately comes in and puts in work. He will score with corner threes with some range, mid-range fall aways and he is improving as passer in tighter spaces. He is very good defensively with rebounding, blocking shots and he is a tough on-ball defender.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3005528' first='Terrance' last='Porter Jr'] Carl Hayden&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard or a combo guard plays on or off the ball seamlessly. He makes smart reads and is a very good catch three point shooter. He likes using the floater game and will get himself to the free throw line with off the dribble drives and quick bursts. He missed some time due to injury and looks good again.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2552765' first='David' last='Rossling'] Basha&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the bench players who played a pivotal role last year in the playoffs is now getting the start. He will score with offensive rebound put backs with some sneaky athleticism and great timing for a guard. He will hit the three off the catch when left open and uses either hand for layups after a speed dribble. He makes smart decisions with the ball and is disruptive on defense.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2533459' first='Kutter' last='Workman'] Casteel&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A high motored power forward with budding skill. He lives on the glass with a real motor using his improving bounce, size and length. He will score with rip thrus, fade aways and mid-range jumpers. He was clearly one of the top rebounders at the event.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
