Weekend Top Performers: UA Future Midwest Regional (Part 2)

The deeper the weekend went at the UA Future Regional in Brighton, Michigan, the more obvious it became just how much talent was packed inside the Legacy Center. <p class="isSelectedEnd">Every court had players making winning plays, guards controlling tempo, wings competing with toughness, and young prospects showing flashes that translate well long term.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">These next six players consistently forced people around the gym to stop, watch, and pay attention every time they stepped on the floor.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Brady Kidwell | Team Tradition | 2030</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">At 6'5, Brady Kidwell quietly looked like one of the more versatile wings at the event.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The Team Tradition prospect impacts the game in a variety of ways offensively without forcing the action. He knocks down perimeter shots confidently, attacks closeouts effectively, and finishes well in transition using his size and athleticism.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">What really stands out is how naturally the game comes to him. Kidwell moves extremely well without the basketball, creates open looks through timing and feel, and consistently plays under control even in physical situations around the rim.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Defensively, he also showed the versatility to guard multiple positions, which only adds more value to his overall game.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Owen McCoy | Griffin Elite | 2030</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Owen McCoy consistently brought explosiveness and confidence every time Griffin Elite took the floor.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The athletic guard created momentum-changing plays throughout the weekend with his shot-making, quick reactions, and ability to attack aggressively without losing control offensively. He knocked down perimeter shots confidently under pressure and consistently looked capable of taking over stretches offensively when he found rhythm.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">What stood out most was the balance between aggression and composure. McCoy stayed competitive defensively while continuing to make smart decisions offensively in high-pressure situations.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Blakely Jones | Griffin Elite | 2030</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Blakely Jones looked like one of the purest perimeter scorers in the gym.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The Griffin Elite guard consistently knocked down jumpers throughout the weekend and showed the ability to completely change momentum with his perimeter shooting. Defenders simply could not afford to lose him in space because of how quickly he could get hot offensively.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">But Jones also showed strong decision-making and playmaking instincts instead of simply hunting shots every possession. In tight moments late in games, he consistently looked comfortable embracing pressure situations and making winning plays.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">That confidence offensively is hard to teach.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Nathan Pesut | TNBA | 2031</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Nathan Pesut physically stood out the moment he walked onto the floor.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">At 6'5, the TNBA forward plays with explosive energy, toughness, and nonstop activity inside the paint. He consistently attacked the basket aggressively, finished through contact, and competed relentlessly for rebounds and second-chance opportunities.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Pesut brings the type of physical motor coaches love from young frontcourt players because he impacts possessions simply through effort, athleticism, and physicality. His toughness and intensity on both ends made him one of the more impactful forwards evaluated throughout the weekend.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Gavriel Noel | Canada Elite | 2034</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Gavriel Noel may still be one of the younger players in attendance, but the upside immediately jumps out.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The Canada Elite forward combines athleticism, length, physicality, and fearlessness in ways that make him extremely intriguing long term. He consistently embraced contact situations, competed defensively with discipline, and showed flashes of versatility offensively.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">What stood out most was how naturally physical and comfortable he already looks competing against older players. As he continues developing his overall skill set and physical tools, Noel has the foundation of a very interesting long-term prospect.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Matthew Selking | Club1 Prime | 2031</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Matthew Selking consistently impacted the game in multiple ways throughout the weekend.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">The athletic wing plays with high energy on both ends while showing the versatility to score, facilitate, rebound, and defend multiple positions. Selking does a great job staying active offensively, reading openings quickly, and creating opportunities for himself without overcomplicating possessions.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Defensively, his athleticism and activity level allow him to guard multiple spots effectively while remaining engaged throughout the game.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">His all-around skill set and versatility make him one of the more complete wing prospects evaluated at the event.</p> <div contenteditable="false"> <hr /> </div> <h3>Closing</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">What made the UA Future Regional impressive wasn't just the overall talent level.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">It was how many players already showed advanced feel, competitiveness, and understanding of how to impact winning at a young age.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">Some players separated themselves with scoring. Others with toughness, pace, or versatility.</p> <p class="isSelectedEnd">But throughout the weekend, the players who consistently stood out were the ones who affected the game possession after possession — not just with highlights, but with real substance to their game.</p> And honestly, there's still more talent worth talking about from this weekend.
