The summer camp and live event trail in Atlanta remains one of the country's best, particularly in the camp setting where hidden gems can emerge from unexpected places. Kris Watkins and the highly skilled coaches and trainers with SH Report are among the top camp organizers in GA, and Watkins' events are always chock-full of talent and breakout guys.

At Hillgrove High School Saturday, we saw some guys stand out as usual. Here is Part 1 of 2.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125571' first='Tyson' last='Sharper'] | Guard | 2027 | 6-2 | [program_tooltip program_id='2076854' first='GA' last='Canes'] | Riverwood (pictured at top)

Distinguished himself as one of the top 2 or 3 performers on the day early on in live play and didn't look back. Loved the communication and understanding at both ends, even amongst guys he never played with, he was giving out directives and seeing the ball to the right places. A stout 6-foot-2, he bullied many of the smaller guys both to the rim and defending out on the perimeter with plenty of physicality. Offensively, he has touch on the jumper, and will finish at the rim with a flourish. Perfect guy for the way the [program_tooltip program_id='2076854' first='GA' last='Canes'] get after it each Spring, and I expect him to continue to stand out for the Raiders under Coach Buck Jenkins in June.

Braylon Robinson | Guard | 2027 | 6-0 | EYA Sports Basketball | Sandy Creek

I commented on Twitter/X that it was seemingly always easy to identify Sandy Creek guys, for the way they play, exceedingly well coached by John-Michael Nickerson, for the way they guard, defense on an elite level very few other programs can boast in the ATL-Metro, and for how they're put together, frames that obviously spent time in the gym. In a continual line of eye-catching guards coming out of Tyrone, Robinson emerges, next in line perhaps to help keep the Pats in another state title chase. Attack-minded, elite defending, real speed with the ball, all things that should put him on radars for the next level. EYA Sports does a tremendous job developing guys in their Spring programs, so Robinson should be a name to watch in July wearing their signature red and black.

Rylan Wahl | Guard/Forward | 2027 | 6-5 | Hoop Athens | Loganville

Unselfish 3-man showed more pep off the dribble than I expected after watching him in drills. Lefties always cause a bit of havoc for defenders, and Wahl took advantage. At 6-5 he was also among the tallest guys in attendance, and that too was an advantage he utilized, both on the glass and during closer-in scoring. Good-looking rotation on the jump shot, a classic pick-and-pop type, and range out to 3 or 4 steps past the line made him one of the camp's top multi-level threats. Playing in the Hoop Atlanta program for HoopAthens will mean he'll see elite-level instruction while away from the Red Devils, so after June passes, July should be key as he continues to get his name out there.

[player_tooltip player_id='2122190' first='Khalid' last='Jones'] | Guard | 2027 | 5-11 | AE5 | Tri-Cities

Much like Sandy Creek guards, you'd love to populate a roster with guys from Tri-Cities, some of the toughest dudes out there, and usually bringing a myriad of skills to the table. Jones fills that description, an obscene burst had him toying with dudes at times, and when he got down to showing off against guys like Braylon Robinson of Sandy Creek and [player_tooltip player_id='2125571' first='Tyson' last='Sharper'] of Riverwood, he showed off his quality, getting by those skilled defenders and finishing. A polished lead guard, he has one more year together in the Dawg backcourt with stud [player_tooltip player_id='2102286' first='Tre' last='Keith'], but Jones isn't one to be overshadowed.

[player_tooltip player_id='2507093' first='Rodney' last='Jackson'] | Forward | 2027 | 6-4 | Omega Prep

I was unfamiliar with Omega Prep, a post-grad academy in Atlanta, before yesterday, but Jackson's sturdy frame and ability to score both facing the basket and as an active glass participant drew the intrigue of many in attendance. Has the feel in his game of a true post, wants to station at the block and catch there or set a high ball screen and then make something happen downhill off the extra pass. And were he 6-foot-8 I think there would be a ton of attention his way, but even in a small forward role he's so strong he can cover some 4's, and showed off pretty good touch from 15 feet and in.

The summer camp and live event trail in Atlanta remains one of the country's best, particularly in the camp setting where hidden gems can emerge from unexpected places.
