Spring brings new prospects. PH Norcal has a Watch List of Newcomers who are now on our radar. We are always looking to shine the light on new, up and coming prospect in NorCal. Some of the prospects in this group, not all are moving from JV to the Varsity are playing well in the Spring.

Allen Johnson: They call him AJ. A long wiry prospect with an improving skill set for the post area. He was an effective post player on the JV, will have learning curve on the Varsity. He's active around the basket, moves his feet, uses his length to gets rebounds, alter shots, goes after blocks. He'll get his points balancing himself, using his length around the basket. He can handle a bit in open court, has good passing.

[player_tooltip player_id='3650939' first='Caleb' last='Clay']: He's a big body with guard skills, has the strength to probably be productive working across the post area. He's a good ball handler, help relive ball pressure, has good ball movement around the perimeter, looks for his mates in the post and cutting to the basket. He's got the handles and body control to go hard, or maneuver his way to the bucket. He's got the off the dribble mid-range, squares up for open 3's. He'll help rebound, and defend bigger players.

[player_tooltip player_id='2985312' first='Joey' last='Jennings']: A long wing type prospect an improving skill set. He handles, moves the ball around, has footspeed and length to defend up top trapping, might get a few steals with his alert activity on defense. He's generating buckets from different spots on the court, shows he can handle things up top at times, shot ready along the perimeter, has a good first, goes hard to the basket at times. He can drop an open 3-pointer. Having a productive Spring at the 16U level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2546046' first='Jayon' last='Hart']: A long thin Freshman, brought up to the varsity during the season, didn't play much. His length and court running got our attention hustles to get up, runs the middle, has good hands to receive and finish around the rim, after balancing and gathering himself. He's still developing his post footwork, but shows he can be effective getting things done in the post area at the 15U level, yet gives good effort getting out moving and defending along the perimeter. He's still growing, will strengthen his frame. He's on our Watch List.

Tomas Jimenez: Has a nice 6'4 frame to bulk up a bit, square shoulders, still growing. He moved up to 17U recently to finish the Spring. He has good fundamentals, works well 15ft and in. He's still developing his skills away from the basket. For now he's an excellent post passer high and low. He squares up, or turns and attack using body, and dribbles to finish at the rim through traffic. He's a rebounders, runs the court hard will finish. He's a bit undersized but moves his feet, has length arms and effort defending in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id='3547797' first='Landon' last='Bader']: He's a big guard plays mostly along the perimeter. A good ball handler, takes care of the ball not a lot of bad passes. He sees the court, keeps the offense flowing in half court with his ball movement. He'll put it on the floor to attack from the perimeter when there's an opportunity. He'll get an offensive rebound for a put back bucket. He's an alert defender, moves his feet, closes out on shooters, helps clog the middle, boxes out going for rebounds. He can handle the ball in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='3296709' first='Joseph' last='Sutherland']: He's a fast and speedy guard lengthy arms good ball handling skills. He has the ability to create his own shots opportunities, quick dribbles, crossovers, change of direction. He's fast filling lanes in transition, can split the defense to finish. He can drop a 3's from the corner , and other spots in half-court offense. He's got length, quick hands and feet to be a disruptor on the defensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='3525372' first='Nasir' last='Callahan']: He's long stronger than he looks, will probably grow a few more inches, and bulk up a bit. He's still looks a bit raw, started the season on the JV averaging 11pts a game before being brought up to the Varsity. He has good activity in the paint on both ends. Standing around 6'5 a good post defender at the 16U level, can block and change shots at times, an improving rebounder, will get putback points. He's on the Spring Watch List.
