Mayhem at the Plex: The Final Chapter

After days of high-level hoops and breaking down dozens of prospects, we have reached the final chapter of our Mayhem at the Plex coverage. The gym was so absolutely loaded with talent from top to bottom that it took multiple deep dives just to adequately cover the action.   Before we officially close the book on this event and shift our focus entirely to the upcoming live evaluation periods, there is one last group of athletes who earned their moment in the spotlight. Whether they were hitting clutch shots in crunch time, anchoring the defense, or doing the gritty work in the paint, these final standouts left a lasting impression on the hardwood. Let's take one last look at the playmakers who finished strong and capped off a phenomenal weekend of basketball.    Hill was all action in each match up and has all of the early on signals for a next level player. He is comfortable with the ball and weaves in and out of the offense to set up his teammates. He is intense on defense as well making him fun to watch on either side of the ball. Heading into the live period he could surely grab some early summer interest from coaches looking to start early relationships with players.     Lee is one of the better shooters in the gym this weekend, and whats special about his game is that his team mates look for him. In a showcase environment when players look to score, when he is open the ball is coming to him for a shot. He also has a nice handle that he uses when the shot is not there to recruit for his teammates. Lee is a smart shooter with other skill sets and will be interesting over the next few years as a prospect.     Gilham was the swiss army knife of guards for the weekend because he showcased different elite skills every time, I watched him play. He is a big guard for his age and that size translates to the next level easily. He is confident with the ball and consistently makes the right reads on or off the ball. He is a locked in competitor and one to watch this summer.     Hendrix is a 6'7 freshman with elite mobility, excellent instints a great on court mentality and SIZE. He is a big kid and already moves well. He has an established foundation of strong fundamentals around the goal with his footwork and post moves and will surely build on those pilars. Hendrix could grow some more, but even at his size right now he is one to watch and track for coaches at the next level.    This completes the Mayhem at the Plex coverage and now we shift gears and move to Session 1. College coaches around the nation are in the gym and looking for their next best prospect.
