We at Prep Hoops VA recently updated our 2028 rankings, expanding to 100 prospects who we feel are ones to watch in the sophomore class. Here's a look at part four of the prospects from the Central, Southern and Western areas in the rankings.

#84) [player_tooltip player_id='2548191' first='Trenton' last='Blosser'] | 6'2” SG | Spotswood

Blosser is a two sport star who also is a great baseball player for Spotswood, but he's shown time and time again he's got a future in basketball if he chooses that route as well. The 6'2” off guard is a knock down shooter from deep with good range, he can attack off the bounce and uses good footwork to create space and score it in the midrange or at the rim, and he brings great energy and toughness on both ends as well.

#86) [player_tooltip player_id='2919016' first='Luke' last='Tomlin'] | 5'8” PG | Liberty Christian

Tomlin is part of a talented LCA backcourt that were very important in their run to the state tournament this year, and he's only going to get better with time. The 5'8” lead guard may not be the biggest but he's a tough nosed and high IQ guard who can set the tone on both ends of the floor, he can get to spots and score it from multiple levels, he sees the floor well and makes plays for others, and his toughness is something that makes it easy for teammates to follow.

#88) [player_tooltip player_id='2919005' first='Miles' last='Davis'] | 5'11” PG | Liberty Christian

While it's hard to play both at the same time due to their size, Davis compliments Tomlin well as he's a lightning quick guard who can also make plays for himself and others and impact the game on both ends of the floor. He's dynamite in transition with his speed and ability to make defenders commit and find teammates running the floor, he can get to spots and score it from multiple levels, he's a good on ball defender and has good hands, and he plays with great energy on both ends of the floor.

#91) [player_tooltip player_id='3554613' first='Soren' last='Kretsinger'] | 6'6” SF | Albemarle

Kretsinger played an important role for Albemarle in yet another deep run in the state tournament this year, and despite not putting up huge offensive numbers he found ways to impact the game and is intriguing with his positional size moving forward. He's an active defender with great hands to get deflections and steals, he uses his size well to rebound on both ends and finish through contact, and he is willing to do the dirty work and accept his role to help his team win.

#95) [player_tooltip player_id='3554617' first='Brasen' last='Hutchens'] | 5'8” PG | Christiansburg

Hutchens is part of a young and talented Christiansburg team that surprised a lot of people this year, and he was their floor general who also stars as a baseball player as well. While he's only 5'8” his impact is big as he sets the tone defensively with his ability to get under ball handlers and jump passing lanes as well, he is a driller from deep with good range off the catch, he has a great feel for the game and both controls it and makes plays for others, and he is a big time competitor that you like from a small guard like himself.

#98) [player_tooltip player_id='2402934' first='Evan' last='Custis'] | 6'0” SG | Christiansburg

Custis is the son of Virginia Tech legend Ace Custis, and he is also part of a young Christiansburg group that is improving and has a bright future if they stay together. Despite being only 6'0” he's likely still growing as his Dad is 6'7”, he's a big time athlete who can play above the rim when he gets downhill or out in transition, he can knock down shots from deep when he's left open, and he still has a lot of room to improve moving forward.

#100) [player_tooltip player_id='3554631' first='Will' last='Ferrell'] | 6'2” SG | North Cross

Ferrell was a breakout player for a North Cross team that made a return to the VISAA D-II Final Four this year, and his all-around game makes him very intriguing moving forward. The 6'2” off guard is a knock down shooter from deep with great mechanics and a quick release, he is a good secondary ball handler who makes good decisions and does a great job relocating after the pass, he plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor, and he's a savvy playmaker off the bounce too.
