The Stage 2026: All Tournament 2nd Team 14U

Here's your All Tournament 2nd Team!!!    Marcus is a shifty ball handler who used various moves to get around defenders. He's a great facilitator who's capable of knocking down shots. Marcus is a "floor general" who does all the necessary things to help his team win. Whether it's attacking the basket, fighting for rebounds, knocking down timely jump-shots or defending, Marcus always made positive plays. He's a very efficient passer. Whenever he saw teammates cutting to the basket, the passes were always on time. Marcus is capable of knocking down threes and scoring floaters in the paint. He was able to make this happen on numerous occasions Saturday morning. He continuously looked to push the pace and make plays. Whenever Mac Elite ran the court, transition points came easy for the team. In regard to defending, he excelled at pressuring opposing guards into turnovers. He finished the game with multiple steals. Marcus is a talented player who should easily adjust to the high school scene next season.     Jesus showed his overall skills as a good all around player. He's a great rebounder who attacked the boards on both sides of the ball. Jesus is an excellent passer with play-making ability. The ball handling skills he posses allowed him to make positive plays. Jesus had a knack for finding teammates in scoring positions. He's a great scorer who did it in various ways throughout the game. Jesus attacked the basket, scored in the post and knocked down short perimeter shots or three-pointers. On defense, he pressed opposing players on the perimeter. His effort generated multiple steals and caused numerous mistakes. Jesus is an excellent player who has a chance to become even greater with growth and maturity.     Justin's skills have improved since I last watched in play in middle school last season. He continues to be a player who plays hard on both ends of the floor. Whether it was scoring, rebounding, assisting or defending, Justin found ways to be effective on the basketball court. I clearly saw the improvement with his ball handling and three point shooting. He knocked down three of them in the match-up against Legacy Ice Gold 8th. He's always been great on the defensive side of the ball. Justin has quick hands and great lateral movement. This allowed him to force numerous turnovers and make ball handling difficult for opposing guards. He even finished the game with a couple of blocks. I look forward to seeing how much he improves this summer. Justin could become a complete player going into high school basketball next year.     Montel did everything for the Drip Hoops 14U team. He's a good ball handler who showed the ability to be a creative scorer. Montel easily beat defenders to the basket. He has a package of lay-ups that proved to be effective throughout the game. Whether it was scoring floaters, reverse lay-ups or straight drives to the rim, Montel was hard for the opposition to handle. I was surprised to see him convert multiple shots from beyond the three-point line. After watching him play in the first half, I viewed him as strictly a driver/slasher. Montel proved he can score from all areas of the basketball court. On defense, he pressed opposing players into numerous mistakes. He plays hard and hustles all over the court. He finished the game with double digit scoring and multiple steals. Montel is capable of being a great two-way player in the coming years.     Ryder is a skilled point guard. He played his position like a true “floor general” Saturday morning. Ryder is a great passer who had a knack for setting up other Region Force 14U players up for high percentage shots. There was a play in the game, where Ryder made the perfect bounce pass to a teammate streaking down the lane. The pass was on the money and led to an easy lay-up. He finished the game with a number of flashy passes. Ryder showed the ability to beat defenders off the dribble and score in the paint. He did this a number of times with strong drives to the basket. Ryder's also a great mid-range shooter with the ability to extend beyond the three-point line. He finished the game with four threes and multiple mid-range jumpers. As he continues to grow and mature, Ryder has the capability of becoming an elite point guard in the future.     Camden is a hardworking player who went after every ball in the vicinity. He was the most aggressive rebounder on the court. Camden plays the game like an athletic power forward despite being the size of a guard. He showed his athleticism by running the court, scoring in transition and never seeming to tire. Camden showcased his skills in the post with a variety of moves. He used various pump-fakes and jump hooks to score over defenders. Camden also showed the ability to make shots on the perimeter. In the second half of the game, he stepped outside the three-point line and confidently knocked it down. On defense, he blocked a couple of shots and had a strong presence in the paint. Camden finished the game with a near double-double in points and rebounds. He's a skilled player with a bright future in the game of basketball.     This is my second write up of Jace. He continues to be a hardworking player who gives maximum effort on the basketball court. Jace dominated the boards on both ends of the floor. Jace is what I call a "lunch pail guy." He's coming to the court to get the job done by any means necessary. Jace attacked the glass with the same ferocity as he did on offense. The majority of his points came off sheer hustle plays. He grabbed offensive rebounds, scored around the rim and knocked down short perimeter shots. Jace is the type of player who hustles on every play. He fought the opposition for loose balls and grabbed every rebound he got his hands on. Defensively, Jace was great at protecting the paint and guarding on the perimeter. He blocked multiple shots and forced numerous turnovers. Jace is a good all around player who has the drive to succeed. He'll be a valuable addition to the high school team he plays with next season.     EJ is a tough minded guard who goes at the opposition. He stayed in “attack mode” throughout the game and played with no fear. EJ is a crafty ball handler who easily broke down opposing players and attacked the paint. Offensively, his shot of choice was a mid-range jumper. Whenever he used the dribble to beat an opponent, EJ created just enough space to knock down a high percentage of his shots. He's a flashy passer and play-maker. The majority of his passes led to easy scores by his teammates. Whether it was a bounce or no-look pass, EJ was always on the money. When the opportunity was there to make threes, he showed the ability to do so. He finished the game with two of them. EJ is an awesome combo guard who has the capability of being successful at either guard spot.
