Summer Watch: SWFL 2029 Prospects, Second Five

The high school basketball season has come to a close, and players throughout the state are switching gears from their school teams, right into travel ball. From circuit teams to independent programs, tournaments are being held each and every weekend, and there are a number of SWFL prospects who will be lacing them up in hopes of improving their game and seeing their stock rise.    The man in the middle for Verot, Fletcher, had a tremendous first season with the Vikings. He is a big, strong prospect who uses his size to his advantage. He is excellent in the post and has the ability to finish through contact with either hand. He's a great rebounder on both ends of the floor, and also has tremendous athleticism for a prospect his size. Keep an eye on this kid as he continues to mature and develop his game.     An extremely athletic and physical prospect, Abdullah, has all the makings to be a high-level prospect. He's an excellent 2-way player who plays the game hard, and is an elite rebounder. He has terrific leaping ability and is quick off the floor, and is able to guard multiple positions on defense. Offensively, Abdullah can score inside and out, but really excels when attacking the paint and finishing around the basket.     Labbe is a long, athletic prospect with a ton of upside. He has the ability to guard any position on the floor, and is a hardworking kid who never takes a play off. He is an excellent rebounder, and thrives in the transition game where he can get out in run and showcase his athleticism. He has a quick first step and excels when attacking the basket. Labbe is one to monitor as he continues to grow both on and off the court.     A true floor general, Gonzalez, will do whatever the team needs to get the win. He has an excellent basketball IQ, and is always looking to get his teammates involved. He has elite handles and can beat you off the dribble, or stop on a dime and knock down the mid-range game consistently. Gonzalez also shoots the 3-ball at a very high rate, and has shown he can score from just about anywhere. He is a tough, gritty defender who isn't afraid to put his body on the line and take a charge either.     Noel stepped up big for the Cougar's in this his first year, and nearly averaged a double-double on the season. He is a long, athletic prospect with tons of potential, and gives it his all each time he steps on the court. He is an excellent rebounder who is quick off the floor, and has the ability to guard multiple positions on defense. Noel is definitely a prospect to monitor as he becomes stronger and continues to develop his game.
