Jayhawk Jam: 14U Most Fundamental

I created a list of the most fundamental young guys I saw at the Jayhawk Jam last weekend. These guys displayed skill sets that came naturally to them and made the game look very easy. Their attributes in a lot of ways became their weapon, and their overall play had very little wasted movement. These 5 guys all played pivotal roles in their victories for their respective teams and did it the right way.    Long arms, knows how to contest a shot at its apex on defense. Had 2 huge blocks in the championship game. Tripp has a sneaky athletic vertical jump and, more importantly, can be effective in a game without having the ball in his hands. He can also play a good 3 to 4 positions on the court if needed.     A Versatile Wing, who is fairly comfortable with his back to the basket, is not afraid to shoot with confidence in big moments from beyond the arc, and played big in the championship moments.     A big man who knows how to attack the offensive glass. Has a traditional game and is very effective with his size and length around the basket. Brayden stays consistent throughout the game, so it becomes a huge chore for opposing teams to box him out properly.     Excels in the open court and in the fast break; his footwork going up for layups is very advanced. He has the Euro and side steps in his bag, combined with good speed and quickness. He has good size and length to make things even worse for his defenders.     Does a great job of consistently dribbling the ball low and at angles to protect his dribble against bigger, longer perimeter defenders in the backcourt.
