College Commitment – Kason Mitchell (2026 Enterprise)

A Mid-Major Classic participant, Kason Mitchell Kason Mitchell 6'8" | PF/C Enterprise | 2026 State OR was one of the top small school recruits in the entire state. The 6-foot-8 Enterprise senior showed out at the event and while he was already getting recruited, things increased in the following weeks. After looking through all his options, the big man has made a decision - and it's one that will keep him near his roots as he's signed with Eastern Oregon.

"I just really loved how close it was to home and how it was a very affordable option," Mitchell said. "I also really like the coaching and all the guys there, since they're so close to home I've been able to go to a lot of open gyms and stuff so I felt like I was already pretty familiar with how they worked."

If you're not familiar with where Enterprise is, it's located in Eastern Oregon on Hwy 82, the road that leads to Wallowa Lake. With it only being a 90 minute drive from La Grande, it became really easy for Mitchell to see how he'll meld into the program.

"I think I can fit really well into they the way they play the game, I think my skill set matches exactly with what my role will be in the team," Mitchell said. "I'm not 100% sure if I will redshirt my freshman year but with all of the great returning talent from last year I don't doubt that redshirting is a very real possibility, but honestly having the opportunity to take a year and learn from all those guys would be great."

Whether he redshirts or not, Mitchell knows there's work to be done. So until enrollment in the fall, he's going to be in the gym getting ready. "I definitely need to improve my ball-handling a bit to keep up with the next level competition, and I would say my footwork could use some improvement as well," Mitchell said. "And this summer I'm really going to be working on putting on weight."
