LONG BEACH — Dinos Trigonis' Pangos Best of SoCal League is the ideal way for high school prospects to bridge the gap between the end of their high school seasons and the start of spring club basketball. We were at McBride high school taking in the action and below we break down the most versatile wings that we saw.

Brooklyn Ross | 2027 | Aquinas

Ross impressed with his combination of explosive vertical athleticism, length and ability to get to the rim and finish in transition and half-court settings. The 6-foot-6 junior used his quick-twitch reaction time to impact the game as a disruptive on-ball defender and as a player who anticipated passing lanes for steals which led to easy transition buckets. Ross was selected to the Cream of the Crop game after averaging 22 points and 8.4 rebounds during regular event play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2750252' first='Carter' last='Parker'] | 2028 | Vasquez

Parker is a smooth scoring wing who, at 6-feet-5, brings great positional size and length to the floor. The sophomore brought a ton of confidence in his shooting ability and it translated well during the games as his deep range and fluid mechanics allowed him to be one of the most efficient shooters and scorers in the event. Parker averaged 23 points, eight assists with a majority of his points coming on deep jumpers off the catch and off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='2948288' first='Jakobi' last='Oware'] | 2028 | Long Beach Poly

Oware is one of the highest upside prospects that we have in Southern California due to his combination of physical and athletic tools to go along with his fast-improving offensive skill-set. The long, wiry 6-foot-6 wing is a smooth and explosive athlete who covers ground quickly in transition with his long strides and can score with finesse, body control and touch around the rim. Oware showed progress with his ball handling and perimeter jump shot during this event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815168' first='Lucas' last='Gaspar'] | 2027 | Santa Margarita

Gaspar can really stretch the floor with his consistency as an off-catch and off-movement shooter and the range in which he can shoot out to makes him an even more difficult cover. The 6-foot-6 junior didn't play at Santa Margarita this season due to a combination of injury and transfer but his combination of size and skill will be much-needed for the Eagles in its rebuild/reload season.

Marco Varani | 2026 | Elev8 Academy

Varani was among the best pure athletes in this event and, when you add in his long, wiry, 6-foot-7 wing flashed versatile offensive skill-set that included smooth three-point and mid-range jumpers, drives and transition slashes to the rim and offensive rebound put-backs to generate second chance points. Varani's length, vertical athleticism and all-around skill made him an effective scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2974465' first='Troy' last='Arthon'] | 2028 | Chaminade

Arthon is best known for his three-point shooting ability which lends to his upside as a three-man or stretch four type prospect at the next level, but on this day the 6-foot-7 sophomore was impacting the game inside as a scorer and rebounder. Arthon is a better athlete than he's given credit for and brought a high level of compete to both ends of the floor.
