Final Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2026 Prospect Rankings

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are excited to unveil our final update of the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2026 Prospect Rankings. These players have now completed their senior year of basketball and are in the process of making their college decisions. Therefore, we will be shifting our attention completely to the younger, returning class. However, before doing so, we wanted to release one final update of our Class of 2026 Prospect Rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What separates us from the competition here at Prep Hoops Indiana is that even here in our final update we have added over 25 new names to the database. There is shakeup within the Top 10, new names from out-of-state in the Top 25, and all kinds of stock-risers. We never stop fine-tuning our rankings as we ultimately seek to do as a good job of as possible at what is truly an impossible task.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>All of our rankings are an inexact science. Generally speaking, we get better and better as the prospects get older and older. We have a lot more information now after fourfull years of high school ball, multiple summers on the grassroots circuits, Prep Hoops Showcases, and much more. However, even when evaluating seniors, it can still be difficult to project who exactly will be the best college prospects. There are some highly ranked prospects who may have just started to scratch the surface at the varsity level while there are lower ranked guys, or even players on the Watch List, who may have been contributing since their freshman season. We take a lot of pride in uncovering over 500 prospects, and adding plenty of new names even this late in the process since our last update, but we know there are more out there that deserve recognition. That is why we update these a handful of times per year and will now be focusing completely on the Classes of 2027, 2028, and 2029.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now, here is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT SENTENCE you will ever read on Prep Hoops. These are PROSPECT rankings, not PRODUCTION rankings. Inevitably, sometime in the next hour, I will get a Twitter DM or email stating something to the effect of “how is Player X ranked #Y when he has barely even played varsity basketball while my son, Player Z, averaged 15 points per game as a junior?” That is where I will direct you to my favorite sentence. PROSPECT versus PRODUCTION. Obviously, sometimes I get it wrong. As I led with, this is in an inexact science even after 12+ years. However, there will be Division I prospects that don't play a varsity minute until they are a junior at some larger schools while there will be four-year All-Conference players at some smaller schools that will barely be recruited at all. Our job is to try to see through the stats and evaluate what things will look like a few years from now. That can be very hard to do, and, once again, is why we update these regularly and spend more time in the gym than anyone else.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Also, it is true, that rankings really don't matter. I know that is a bit of cliche and I understand why they matter to players…that is why I spend countless hours evaluating prospects and then pour over all information time and time again to put out the most accurate ranking possible. I know it matters to YOU. However, they don't matter much at all to the people who actually matter…college coaches. When a college coach asks me about a prospect they don't look to see what he is ranked and I don't look before I respond.
