The lights were bright. The matchups were loaded. And the energy inside the gym set the tone for what is shaping up to be a can't-miss weekend. Night one of the Top 25 Scouts March Madness Tournament, hosted by T3TV, delivered exactly what you would expect: young talent competing with edge, confidence, and something to prove. Across multiple age divisions, prospects stepped onto the floor and didn't just play… they performed. Here are a few names that made serious noise on Day 1…

Landyn Nathan Thacker (5'11/SF/'32/Griffin Elite)

IG: @LandynThacker25

There is nothing flashy about Landyn's game, but he impacts that game across the stat sheet. He makes really good decisions when he is attacking downhill. Whether he looks for his own offense or draws defenders and kicks to open teammates, he plays the game the right way for a 6th grader. Landyn is a player that teammates love playing with because he plays tough, plays unselfishly, is a good rebounder, and is a willing defender.

Mario Jones (5'4/CG/'30/[program_tooltip program_id='3335940' first='Run' last='As One Lancers'])

IG: rj2shiftyyy._

Mario is a small guard who puts constant pressure on the defense and lives in the paint. He is very good at navigating into the paint, collapsing the defense, and making good decisions in tight spaces. He has court awareness and the ability to orchestrate the offense with precision. He has a natural feel for the game and a developing PG IQ. His quickness is seen on both ends of the floor as he uses it to blow by defenders on offense, and he couples it with his on-ball pressure to force defenders into mistakes that lead to turnovers.

Shelton Williams (5'2/PG/'31/Ohio Legends)

IG: Sheltonwilliams11

Shelton is a small guard who, despite the game's outcome, showed his competitive nature by not letting the scoreboard affect him. He kept working and kept running the show for his team. He handled the rock well and showed his ability to facilitate. He has a budding skill set, and the key to Shelton's future in the game is what may come in time: physical growth and eventual strength.

Charles Gibson (6'0/SG/'31/Team Alpha)

IG: Charliemg33

Charles is an off-guard who showed a two-way impact throughout the game. He is a multi-level scorer and did a really good job pushing tempo, getting to the cup, showcasing crafty finishes with touch, and playing with a really good feel for the game. He is instinctive on the defensive end of the floor, which allowed him to force turnovers, which his team turned into offense. I really like his poise at his age and ability to impact the game with his versatility.

Prince Nunn (5'6/CG/'32/Indiana Dominators)

IG: princechasedown

No one on day one that I saw played harder than Prince. He is a hard-playing prospect to monitor who made his impact on both ends of the floor. He played with passion and brought energy and effort as he was active on the glass, showed scoring versatility by shooting the three-ball, but was at his best when he was slashing his way to the cup. He is a relentless competitor who leaves it all on the court.

Keegan Jackson (5'3/SG/'32/Griffin Elite)

Keegan is a heady backcourt prospect with a budding skill set who plays at a pace where he rarely gets sped up. He is a secondary initiator on this squad, which allows him to play on and off the ball, and he produces in either role. He is efficient with his offensive opportunities and a really good decision-maker when creating for his teammates.
