WBCA/Prep Hoops Poll for week of February 16
New No. 1-ranked squads in Division 2 and Division 5 highlight this week's Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association/Prep Hoops Wisconsin state-wide poll of boys' basketball teams.
Port Washington has taken over the top spot in Division 2 while Kickapoo has done the same in Division 5.
Upstart Port Washington continued its memorable season with wins over Cedarburg, West Bend West and Kewaskum last week. Coach Garrett Hoffmann's squad is 20-1 and leads the standings in the Glacier Trails Conference.
Kickapoo defeated Weston and Ithaca last week to improve to 20-1 and is on top in the Ridge & Valley Conference.
Wisconsin Lutheran keeps chugging along with its unblemished record and is a unanimous pick as the top team among Division 1 schools. The Vikings have held that lofty position all winter and are the odds-favorites to capture the school's third consecutive WIAA state championship. Madison Memorial won three Big Eight Conference games last week and moved into the No. 2 position, replacing Appleton North, which dropped a Fox Valley Association contact to Oshkosh North.
Like Wisconsin Lutheran, Seymour in Division 3 and Milwaukee Juneau in Division 4 remained on top of their respective divisions with each school receiving the maximum number of vote totals. Seymour and Milwaukee Juneau have been on top of their divisions all season.
