Perry at Corona del Sol: Who Stood Out?

Corona Del Sol hit the floor in Tempe with energy and urgency, setting the tone early in what turned into a competitive match-up. Here are the standouts I noticed during the game:    He showed good lift on his jumper and shot it well off the catch, staying under control and picking his spots. In transition, he made several strong reads and delivered quality passes that kept the tempo in his team's favor. His shot selection was sharp throughout the night, and his strong frame helped him get downhill and absorb contact. He created his own shot multiple times when needed, never rushed — just poised, efficient shot-making.     He crashed the boards hard all night, giving his team a significant number of second-chance points. A monster on the glass, his impact was a big reason Perry was able to secure the win. He showed a willingness to do all the little things needed, battling consistently and bringing toughness and effort on both ends throughout the game.     He stood out on defense in this game. His long, lanky frame, active hands, and instincts made it difficult for ball-handlers to get the ball on the floor in front of him, and he consistently challenged shots and passing lanes. With these ingredients, he has the potential to be one of the better premier defenders in the AIA.       He's a shot-maker who kept the defense guessing all night. He got defenders off balance with his dribble and flowed right into threes, creating clean looks for himself. Most of his makes were timely — momentum-shifting shots that swung the energy of the game. He hit big ones throughout the night, and the crowd erupted behind several of the tough, confident shots he knocked down.       He shot it well off the catch and brought a real spark to start the second quarter. His quick burst off the dribble let him get downhill and attack the rim, and he didn't shy away from creating contact. On the defensive end, he played with a scrappy on-ball presence, staying active and making ball-handlers uncomfortable. Overall, he impacted the game with his pace, toughness, and ability to attack on offense while competing defensively.       He made Perry pay from deep all night, knocking down shots with a smooth, quick release that didn't give defenders time to recover. He moved well off the ball, constantly relocating, cutting, and drifting into open windows. His awareness and timing allowed him to consistently find clean looks, and he operated as a reliable floor spacer who stretched the defense and opened driving lanes for his teammates. His shooting gravity alone changed possessions, forcing Perry to stay attached and adjust their coverage throughout the game.
