Buena at Mica Mountain Standouts

Both games were exciting to watch as some new faces emerged. Was making plays on both sides of the ball. Porter finished just shy of a double double as he was crashing the boards tonight. Accounted for 5+ steals and 5+ assists tonight as well. Played the entirety of the game tonight (as I don't recall him getting subbed out) and did so at a high level. Porter has next level vision and was always a step ahead. When he was on the court he made plays and the deficit the Thunderbolts would find themselves in would lessen. Checked into the game and the talented shooter knocks down a three. He showed his range with a few of them tonight. Took a key charge late in the game and on the very next play the assist to give Mica its first lead since I believe all game. Got up for a dunk to regain momentum for the Colts immediately after halftime. Rebounded the ball well especially while crashing the boards on the offensive side. Made the type of plays that don't show up on the stat sheet. A well rounded player that plays at a high level all the time. Strong , physical paint defender who uses his lengthy arms to block shots and collect rebounds. Good height and a strong frame. Beck came in clutch tonight hitting the three that would put Mica up for good. Defensively Beck showed the ability to effectively guard 1-4. He plays with a very strong motor. He has good awareness. Deflected multiple passes and came up with steals in transition. Strong passer and good rebounding ability. Scored very well at the basket accounted for many second chance points. Finished with a game high 18 points 10 of those came in the third quarter where the Thunderbolts went on a 30-14 run. Has a high percentage mid range shot as well as a three ball he showed off tonight. Padilla is extremely quick and difficult to guard. Makes great reads through traffic. Moves very well defensively and has quick hands. Had a few steals/forced turnovers the led to points for the Colts. Made it very difficult for opposing guards to advance the ball. Came away with numerous steals that lead to points for the Colts. Sprints in transition and came up with a couple blocks on the defensive side. Vocal and moved well in their defensive press. Has a quick first step and finishes nicely with either hand for the layup. Scored well off the dribble from the perimeter as he knocked down multiple threes. Finished with a team high 17 points. He was the tallest one on the court and he showed it. Dominant in the paint on both sides of the ball. Disciplined shot blocker that forced the Thunderbolts to shoot from the outside. Offensively he showed good post footwork backing his man down and scoring off the glass or the hook shot. Got up showing us his athleticism with a nice dunk.
