Some teams are not just winning games. They are making noise. A handful of squads have started to turn heads with breakout performances, bold play, and a growing confidence that demands attention. These teams are shaping the conversation in ways that are hard to ignore.
Bingham Miners

Bingham had an impressive win right before the break, with an 80-79 overtime win over the Olympus Titans on Nov. 25th. Despite [player_tooltip player_id='1278502' first='Gavin' last='Lowe'] scoring 44 points for the Titans, the Miners were able to pull it out. Derek Peterson was at the cup to make a tip-in with two seconds to go and ultimately win his team the game. Looking to improve over their 17-8 record last year, this is a great start to the season. With returning players [player_tooltip player_id='1278436' first='Luke' last='West'], [player_tooltip player_id='1493311' first='Parker' last='Snedaker'] (28 pts vs. Olympus), and [player_tooltip player_id='2539814' first='Denzel' last='Peoples'] to name a few, they should have the chemistry to keep this up.

Lone Peak

A great all-around team performance by Lone Peak November 24th. They were able to get points out of 10 different players which is not too common for this level. Led by Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1724367' first='Saxon' last='Young'] with 21 points and six 3PM, the Knights ran away with this one over neighboring school Pleasant Grove 73-43. This was followed by another big win over Springville and top recruit Jamyn Sondrop. Big performances on both sides. Lone peak had another 24 PTS from [player_tooltip player_id='1724367' first='Saxon' last='Young'] and 19 PTS from [player_tooltip player_id='1724365' first='Crew' last='Fotheringham']. Springville had success as well, with [player_tooltip player_id='1724426' first='Swift' last='Hall'] leading the scoring with 21 in a game that was within reach until Lone Peak pulled away in the 4th quarter.

Woods Cross

The Wildcats have started the season off by steadily handling each of their first two opponents. Winning by an average of 21 points so far, it will be interesting to see how they respond as the schedule gets tougher through 2026. So far [player_tooltip player_id='1959042' first='Bryson' last='Watson'] looks like a real problem, leading the scoring for them in both games. As well as Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1724359' first='Madden' last='Johnsen'] who I've wrote on previously making an impact early. Against Murray, they won by 23 points behind 30 PTS from Watson, 22 PTS from [player_tooltip player_id='2380893' first='Elliot' last='Bendinger'], and 11 PTS from Johnsen. I also have to mention [player_tooltip player_id='2978707' first='Roman' last='Israyelyan'] of Murray who is a great iso scorer, scoring 19 of Murray's 51, leading his team.
