We are now in the time of year where prospects are making their college commitments and officially signing with their senior seasons just days away. Over the last week, there's been some more buzz with some top uncommitted names and some clarity with others belonging in the top-25. Let's dive in.

Baba Oladotun, the top-ranked prospect in the 2026 MD/DC rankings, will be announcing his college decision next Wednesday at James Hubert Blake High School. The highly coveted wing will choose between a final four schools that include Arkansas, Georgetown, Kentucky and Maryland. Over the last week there has been a ton of noise as to where Oladotun is leaning and after speaking with sources in different areas of this recruitment, I have reason to believe that this is a two-team race between Arkansas and Maryland. Kentucky is out. Georgetown doesn't seem to be completely out of the picture, but it seems the chances are decreasing. I'm predicting that Oladotun announces he'll be joining the Razorbacks and will head down south to play for head coach John Calipari.

Samuels' decision date still unknown

The No. 2 ranked prospect in our rankings, [player_tooltip player_id='1782660' first='Qayden' last='Samuels'], remains on commitment watch without any known date as to when he'll officially announce. The two teams involved here are Alabama and Georgetown. The Hoyas have been the program involved with Samuels for an extended period, while the Tide have ramped up their efforts in the last month or so and gained some serious ground. I wouldn't say this thing is over and the ink has dried on the paper, but if I had to make a decision today, Samuels will be the second prospect in the DMV area to commit to an SEC program and play for Nate Oates' in his up-tempo, three-point heavy system.

Huan commits to Purdue

[player_tooltip player_id='1891144' first='Sinan' last='Huan'] made a splash in his first season playing for Georgetown Prep and followed up with a strong early summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2078457' first='Team' last='Durant'] on the EYBL Circuit presenting himself as one of the better bigs in the 2026 national class. With plenty of potential left to be tapped into, the 7-foot southpaw becomes the next in line to join the long list of head coach Matt Painter's successful formula in developing bigs into nationally known names within college basketball. Huan brings different aspects from names in the past as he still needs to add mass to his frame, but is packed with skill, IQ, and rim presence that should only continue to evolve when that size is put on. Huan chose the Boilermakers over Ohio State.

Thet commits to Siena

[player_tooltip player_id='2867284' first='Bolis' last='Thet'] was our biggest riser in the rankings update for the 2026 class after a spectacular fall and it resulted in multiple offers coming his way. The skilled, 6-foot-9 forward didn't waste much time after taking his official visit to Siena to give them his pledge. Siena has been presence in the Baltimore and DMV area for some time now and more times than not, prospects that made their way up to Loudonville, NY tend to enjoy productive years there or transfer up a level to finish their collegiate careers. Thet remains a ball of clay in terms of his development, but has plenty of potential to form into a weapon for head coach Gerry McNamara and company in the long-term.
