Bates was what I would call a star at the event. He's a bona fide playmaker who's passes just had the extra zip. Bates delivered bounce pass feeds to the post and to cutters when and where they needed to be. His jumper was next level. It was quick, strong and confident and snapped through the net. Bates was able to create looks with his handles and had no difficulty hitting mid range and deep jumpers of the bounce.

Cooley's name is on speed type on my computer. Coming off the strong performance at the open gym at Waterford Kettering, he looked really good once again. Cooley was just so slick at th elite camp that defenders had a hard time staying in front. Cooley consistently looked down the floor and showed that he could push the pace with both the dribble and the pass. His handles were strong and he used them to create and keep space.

Williams impressed me with his athletic game and the way that it influenced the game. He showed verticality with his rebounds and didn't hesitate to push pace directly off of them. Speaking of pace, I really liked the way he got into the open floor and was able to pick up points because of it. Williams recognized how to fill lanes and keep space.

Hartfield was definitely impressive at the camp. His floor game looked well beyond his years. The young man can play fast, as he got up and down the floor in a hurry. Even more impressive was the fact that he was under control when doing so. Hartfield was an impressive passer that showed terrific court vision at the event.

Thomason was fun to watch. The Texas guard was always looking to make a play on the offensive end. He was pretty electric with the ball, even hitting a baseline jumper from behind the backboard as he was falling out of bounds. Thomason showed that he could shoot off the bounce as he buried a pull up wing triple.
