Recruiting: NMHU Offers Pair of Top 2026 Prospects

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>New Mexico Highlands has offered two of the top 2026 prospects in the Land of Enchantment.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Six-foot-8 Artesia forward <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2146038' first='Clay' last='Kincaid']</strong>, one of the top big men in the state, and 6-foot-5 La Cueva forward <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2694526' first='Hunter' last='Butler']</strong> both announced Tuesday on social media that NMHU has offered.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kincaid helped lead Artesia to the Class 4A state championship in March. With Kincaid and every other major contributor returning in 2025-26 ([player_tooltip player_id='1846065' first='Charlie' last='Campbell'], [player_tooltip player_id='1717327' first='Braylon' last='Vega'], etc.), Artesia should be considered one of the favorites in 4A to lift the blue trophy in March at the Pit in Albuquerque.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Butler was one of the top players in the Albuquerque Metro Region in 2024-25, leading the Bears in scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.3) as La Cueva reached the quarterfinals of the Class 5A playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Butler made 57 percent of his shots (177-311) and scored over 450 points for the Bears, who exceeded expectations after nearly every major player from the 2023-24 team departed for various reasons. Butler made 62 percent of his 2-point shots attempts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both Kincaid and Butler are playing for ABC Spotlight on the AAU summer tour. They recently shined at tournaments in Atlanta and Chicago.
