Some of the players in this piece may have started the weekend as under the radar, but they definitely emerged as top contenders for player of the weekend in my eyes. [player_tooltip player_id='2555141' first='Phillip' last='Jackson'] was a huge all-around presence for [program_tooltip program_id='2075308' first='Beast' last='Elite'] 17u in their close loss to the [program_tooltip program_id='2075520' first='Houston' last='Raptors'] Benjamin. Jackson drove to the basket and finished efficiently over tough defense, cashed in at the foul stripe, and hit several midrange/perimeter jumpers. One of the many seniors on [program_tooltip program_id='2075308' first='Beast' last='Elite'], Phillip showed that he has what it takes to play at the collegiate level with his performance, excelling in all facets of the game. He can beat the defense from all three levels and can be the most aggressive player on the court defensively. With this type of play on the court, Phillip should definitely be in a good situation with his recent commitment to Schreiner University.     At times during the Westside Pels game against the 5280 Aces, Caden was by far and away the best player on the court dominating both sides of the ball. He was efficient on the fastbreak, scoring the ball under the rim and keeping teammates involved. He was one of the higher scoring finishers I was able to watch this weekend, definitely top 3 in the 17u division. Caden's motor and hustle was what really kept me glued to his game and made him stand out among everyone on the court. He was not afraid to put his body on the line for second chance rebounds and loose balls. Look for him to be a major stock riser throughout the summer.     Micaiah was one of the higher volume shooters on the court in Arnold Elite's wins over [program_tooltip program_id='2461615' first='L3' last='Elite'] and PDR Elite. Baker made the defense pay from long range whenever left open and was picking his spots carefully to allow for the best quality looks from deep. Micaiah showed he can also run point guard with the best of them, as he had several pick and roll assists to his post players and was able to dish several passes off the dribble drive to open teammates. One of the biggest unknown players in the city going into this weekend, Micaiah was majorly put onto the radar after some big-time performances in which he shot the lights out and had several highlight plays. I will definitely be more tuned into his game throughout the summer from this point forward.     Jaxon was a true point guard this weekend for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075520' first='Houston' last='Raptors'] 17u in some close games for his Raptors Benjamin team. Jaxon knows how to distribute the ball well to teammates and has great court awareness when running the one slot on offense. He can handle himself excellent against full court pressure and uses quick speed and moves to accelerate past the defense and get to his spots. Jaxon is good with his passing and is also consistent on creating fastbreak scoring opportunities and getting stops on defense. He is currently looking for a collegiate home for next season and will be a major steal for whatever school comes across him.     Charles was the most effective sharpshooter during [program_tooltip program_id='2461615' first='L3' last='Elite']'s close games against Arnold Elite 2026 and Team Locked in 17u. He can score the ball in other ways; Ewing uses his quick hands and speed to lock up on defense, creating shots for himself off the dribble and drawing fouls to get to the free throw line. I was impressed by his calm and poise in the clutch. When it came down to it, Ewing told his teammates to give him the ball and got to working on his matchup. Charles will continue to turn heads playing at this level and should be on college coaches' radars.
