In basketball there are players that are so essential to their teams that they make a huge impact just by being on the court. The players in this article are very important to their teams overall, without them these teams would change requiring their teammates to step up in their absence. I will be talking about five players that are very important to their respective teams!

[player_tooltip player_id='2251094' first='Jason' last='Vidaurri'] never backed down from pressure against the Owe 17U team's press defense. Almost every offensive possession started with [player_tooltip player_id='2251094' first='Jason' last='Vidaurri'] taking the ball down the court trying to beat the press and did the best against Owe 17U the entire weekend. When the ball was across halfcourt, Jason made many good plays happen on offense as he set teammates up the best he could for success on all three levels and most times took it upon himself to get points to cut the lead down. Jason really did the best he could to keep his Nike ProSkills San Antonio team in the game by controlling the pace against a tough defense. He stayed composed despite the pressure brought to him which really impressed me.

[player_tooltip player_id='2398561' first='Jonah' last='Macaluso'] was a big-time scorer for MMB Elite in the game against Team Locked in 17U giving out buckets to whoever was guarding him. Whether he is driving to the rim, shooting from the perimeter or pulling up from mid-range he finds so many ways to score due to his IQ on the offensive end. Jonah moves well without the ball making cuts to get easy layups as well catching defenses off guard reacting slow back door. When controlling the pace with the ball in his hands, he finds the wide-open man quite often with his good vision. Defensively, he slides his feet on defense especially against opposing guards.

Isaiah Powell did most of his work inside the paint, scoring very well in that area against MMB Elite taking advantage of his size and touch throughout game. Once he catches the ball in the paint, he's basically automatic when putting the ball through the net. When it comes to offensive rebounding you can count on Isaiah to get a good amount of them as he multiple against MMB Elite displaying a high motor in that statistical category!

Jason Williams was the anchor of the Westside Pels 17u team inside the paint playing on both ends with a lot of energy. He was the anchor by rebounding on both ends of the floor, playing with a ton of hustle and protecting the rim at a high level for his Westside Pels 17U team. The impact he leaves on the floor with his minutes played was very evident as he sets a tone with his tough play style doing what doesn't necessarily show up on the stat sheet!

Mj Brown has great anticipation on his steals defensively being active in passing lanes. When playing defense on the ball he is a very physical defender that makes his opponents work for their shots. On offense he really excelled in transition as he stays under control on his way to the basket. Mj Brown's guard play on the defensive end is very important for the Westside Pels 17U team!
