OTR Freshman Orientation Prospect Stock Risers

The OTR Freshman Orientation hosted annually by Marcus Sloan, took place last weekend in Cypress at the Temple Training Center. Many prospects showed up looking to make their names known as they go into their freshman year at new campuses and will look to compete immediately for a spot on their respective squads. Here are five standouts I was really glued in on at the event!    Anthony would get my vote for player at the camp with the most potential as he made it look easy on both ends of the court. He rebounded with efficiency, showed ability to handle the ball under pressure, and scored at a high level. He showed extremely high IQ with the ball in his hands and was never selfish with the rock. Expect him to make an immediate impact for the Atascocita Eagles, a school who is no stranger to building a successful program.     Rashaad was the most vocal player in the gym during Freshman Orientation this past Saturday. He was constantly encouraging teammates and being the first one down the court on every possession. He displayed a consistent jumper and showed discipline with the ball in his hands. Williams was adept at playmaking, sliding in at the point guard slot and running the offense setting the pace of the game. Rashaad will look to make his presence known at North Shore in a competitive district that is not easy to play in.     Isaiah was most impressive on the defensive side of the court, with his nonstop hustle and physical on ball defending. He never gave his matchup room to operate and constantly played the passing lanes to his advantage. He moves very well without the basketball on offense, cutting to the rim and setting off ball screens for teammates. Isaiah will fit perfectly in with a scrappy team at Humble this upcoming year.     Marcos was one of the more underrated hoopers at the exposure event that definitely helped his stock rise. He was very unselfish with the basketball, never hesitating to make that one extra pass that led to an easy bucket. His defense was disciplined and was quick on his feet to stay in front of the offense. Playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075520' first='Houston' last='Raptors'] this summer helped his game tremendously and he will immediately contribute at Alief Hastings in the fall.     Eric was one of the more physically intimidating players at the camp as he made his presence felt underneath the basket. He had active hands-on defense, swatting away shots off the backboard and grabbing tough rebounds preventing second chance points. Eric showed ability to finish tough layups through contact and earn his points at the foul stripe. His hustle for loose balls was impressive as he secured several critical possessions for his team in crunch time. Heights will definitely get a big-time hustle player and slasher in Eric this year.
