He can spot up and use his quick release to sink shots over his defender, or he can use his afterburners and impressive ballhandling skills to zoom right past them once they bite on his first pump fake. King is smart and patient on the court and knows how to get to his exact spots where he'll swish it more times than not. He's also not afraid and will not hesitate if he's open, which is exactly what a coach wants in their best shooters. He loves his corner spots and if needed his range can extend well beyond the arc. Gage is disruptive and has quick hands on defense, often swiping lazily protected balls and leading the fast break the other way for his team. He's got a nice vertical ability, and he uses it well when challenging his opponent's shots, often altering their attempt or sending it sailing altogether. If they close out on him and take away his space, he quickly penetrates right past them and kicks it to his bigs for an easy dunk or layup in the paint. If his defenders decide they're tired of getting beat on foot and give him the tiniest sliver of space to safeguard themselves, he'll simply spot up and rise and elevate right over them for a high-percentage jumper. He's an excellent passer and he's a natural at leading the charge for his squad down the court. He sets his teammates up for success and helps get them going, then once he realizes everyone's in the zone, he flips the switch for himself. He's also a true two-way point guard. His defense is relentless and he refuses to give any space to his opponent anywhere on the court. He's got effective hands and regularly creates steals and turnovers in his team's favor. He's graceful with the way he moves and drives through the paint, often finger-rolling his way to two points or dropping the perfect dish to a teammate for a wide-open shot opportunity. His strides are incredibly long and allow him to cover an impressive amount of ground once he gathers with speed. He doesn't shy away from the paint in the least and he's so lengthy that his defenders are rarely able to legitimately challenge his shots. He can finish well through contact and his confidence is contagious when he leads his team down the floor. He's a great communicator and stays vocal throughout the game, directing his teammates to their spots and asking them to clear the way when he's ready to teach his defender a lesson. You don't want to slack getting back on a fast break against him, he does have the ability to dunk on you and he won't hesitate to take advantage of those opportunities. He's a beast on the glass - consistently pulling down boards on both ends and getting his team extra opportunities. Martial elevates his team significantly with his confident approach and elite skills. He takes his time to scan the entire defense, not just the man assigned to him. It seems as if he sees right past his defender to figure out what the defense is giving his team overall and then he makes a quick decision and attacks. He has an impressive way of leaning into his defender to create additional space for himself without giving any opportunities away for an easy steal or block. He has longer arms for his size and he uses them incredibly effectively with his whip-around one-handed passes that zip behind his defender's back and end up right in the hands of a wide-open teammate. Miles is a lefty primarily, but when he drives right you wouldn't know it at all. He can go either direction on his defender with ease and his crossover is SCARY and regularly breaks unsuspecting ankles. He shows his impressive two-way ability with his hustle and quick hands on defense - disrupting passing lanes and creating chaos and frustration for his opponent. It's almost as if he sees the floor a second ahead of everyone else - the way he anticipates where passes are going and what his opponent's next steps are is truly a beautiful thing to watch. He's quick on the dribble as well and is excellent at leading the charge down the floor for his team on the fast break. What I love most about Fitzgerald's game is that he always stays ready and he'll gladly do whatever his team needs him to in order to get the victory. If that's sinking three-pointers and getting to his spots - he's on it. If he needs to be more of a disruptor and wreak havoc on defense to shift the momentum in his team's favor - he's got that covered. Kobin is a hustler and he's going to keep getting better and better going forward.
