The sophomore Kanitz played in the shadow of his big brother this season, but there’s no question he was a huge part of the Wildcats’ championship run. He shouldered a lot of ball handling duties and dealt out 4 assists per game. In the tournament, he scored 22 points and was solid in every facet of the game.

LaCrosse had a special season, going 20-3 reaching the state tournament. They had some fine seniors to lead the way, but it was the sophomore Holopirek who was the leading scorer.
