Let’s take a closer look at some of the “AM Standouts” from a packed event at the Champions Center in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Billy Berg | The Valley
Berg was the calming presence for The Valley. He showed great awareness and decisiveness in transition. His shot selection was beyond his years and he produced at an effective rate when looking to score. He was really crafty in the pick and roll and made some really impressive reads.
Jackson Koester | Milwaukee Blazers
Koester did a great job at the helm for the Milwaukee Blazers. He had great decision making in high pressure situations, finding teammates and holes in the defense with timely and precise passes. His role as the energy leader was also on display this weekend. His willingness to chase down layups and cause havoc and mistakes was apparent.
Caleb Gilliam | Chapman North
Gilliam’s activity on both ends of the floor made him a standout prospect this weekend. He proved to be a solid scorer around the rim, finishing contact layups with either hand. The highly aware guard covered ground in a major way on 50/50 balls and slid to help beaten teammates. What stood out the most was his active hands in the passing lanes.
Ja’kari Lovelady | BNB
Lovelady was a driving force for BNB, he was nearly unstoppable once he got a head of steam to the basket. His ability to rebound on the defensive end allowed his team to play fast paced basketball. He proved to be a strong driver when looking to get to the rim, his ability to finish through contact led to “and ones” and momentum shifting plays.
Zion Vale Zion Vale 5'9" | SG WI | Ray Allen Select
Vace was a quiet assassin for Ray Allen Select , he scored in bunches and efficiently from all three levels. The hard nosed wing mixed it up quite a bit with the bigs and attacked the boards in a major way, his ability to push the break gave his team many opportunities to score before the defense set up. His skill and hard nosed approach led the way for his team.
