Here’s a look at part three of some of the many standouts from the event.
Haven Nicholas | 6’5” SF | Nansemond River
Nicholas was impressive in a number of ways at the event, and he has a lot of upside with his size and length at his position as well. The 6’5” wing has a good frame that should fill out well at the next level, he has good ball skills with the ability to handle it and make shots on the perimeter and he plays with a good motor as well.
MJ Winstead | 6’1” PG | Benedictine
Winstead is coming off of a great senior season and showed he was one of the best guards in Richmond, and he showed that at the camp as well with his all-around impact at the event. The 6’1” lead guard plays with great pace and control handling pressure well, he scored it efficiently from multiple levels off the bounce and he made plays for others as well.
Carmello Myles | 6’4” SG | Fork Union
Myles was a big part of FUMA’s run to the Elite Prep League Championship this year, and he showed a lot of what makes him an intriguing prospect moving forward. The 6’4” wing is long and bouncy which he showed with some impressive finishes above the rim, he works well in isolation to get to spots and knock down shots in the midrange and he’s a good rebounder too.
Omarion Barbour | 6’8” C | Fork Union
Barbour was another important piece off the bench for FUMA this year, and he got a lot better throughout the year which he showed in the camp with his production. At 6’8” he’s a good athlete who can get up and down and play above the rim, he’s a good rim protector and rebounder and he has good touch around the rim too.
Demarion Hunt Demarion Hunt 6'4" | SF LC Bird | 2024 State VA | 6’4” SG | LC Bird
Hunt was fantastic for Bird this year leading them to a state championship appearance and going viral with his game winning shot against Albemarle in the state semifinals. He’s a big wing who impacts the game on both ends of the floor, is a natural leader and playmaker and can fill it up across the board which he did at the camp.
