Have all shown good promise playing around the hoop and with growth in a couple of areas, could be some sleepers to watch when the next high school season rolls around. Keep tabs on these guys this AAU season as deeper frontcourt players to know.
Big man from Seattle Academy who finished fifth in 1A State this past year. Has shown some glimpses of being an athletic frontcourt guy who can hit from the midrange and bang inside. Pretty athletic at 6-foot-7 but could really benefit from improved post moves. Shows good fight on the glass and can finish through contact at the rim. Playing with World Class Renegades this season.
Played solid up front for a tough Sammamish team that finished just out of the trophy round at this year’s 2A state tournament. Third leading scorer for them at just over 10 points per game and was a big factor on the glass and defending the rim. Looked stronger this season and can really hold position down low and get into good spots for passes off drives. Excels diving to the rim and can pop out to hit those short to midrange jumpers.
Not a big statistical season for him in 2023-24 but he had some games where he showed potential to be a real force around the hoop. Has pretty good hands and feet, does a good job getting on balance to make his moves, can play through congested areas around the basket, and showed he can capitalize on trips to the line. He’s a decent athlete who can rise up for a jam and run the floor. Should be a guy to watch heading into next season.
Strong kid who seems to keep growing. Was a big anchor for North Kitsap inside this past season defending the rim and working the glass. Double-double threat who can clean up around the rim, does well in the PnR, and provides a physical presence on both ends.
Athletic kid who’s a solid defender. Shows good activity on both ends, can block shots, get hands on passes and dribbles, and runs the floor well. Has a decent handle in the open floor to push the pace in transition too and can take bigs who creep out to the perimeter off the bounce. Could be an impact defender at Sumner next season and is playing with Seattle Select this spring.
