Taj Sandhu
Taj Sandhu
I caught a couple of Freedom’s games this year, and Junior Guard Taj Sandhu impressed me. I love what Taj can do within the flow of an offense. He was Freedom’s leading scorer without demanding a bunch of touches. He is one of the best spot-up shooters in the area, and he set a school record with 78 threes. Taj has nice size at 6’3, and when he is run off the three-point line, he does well at putting the ball off the floor.
Jonathan Jennings Jonathan Jennings VA

Another Freedom Eagle that more people should watch is Jonathan Jennings Jonathan Jennings VA . Jonathan is one of the more interesting players in the area, and if you want to get an accurate picture of what he can be, you should check him out this AAU season. Jonathan plays a little more like a forward for Freedom, but I think he could be unlocked in a different role. Jonathan is 6’5 with good vision and a good handle. He is a fantastic athlete and versatile defender. He does many things well, and this summer will be huge for him. Jonathan could play at the next level if he gets his mind right and his skillset is used productively.
Mason Ridgeway
Mason Ridgeway
Mason Ridgeway was one of the most improved players in Virginia this season. He led a Riverside team in scoring that caught fire in the second half of the season. Mason is a talented scorer who plays the game at his own pace. Riverside is returning virtually everyone, so they will be a team to watch these next few years, and Mason may be the best of that bunch.
Dane Marsh
Dane Marsh
Dane Marsh had a fantastic junior year for an excellent Woodgrove team. Dane is 6’7 and strong and uses his physical attributes well, especially on defense. He blocks shots at a high rate and plays hard. Dane makes his mark offensively on the glass and finishes around the rim. This time next year, you could see Dane with a number next to his name.
Unity Reed had a rough year, but Junior Guard Julian Shahateet Julian Shahateet 6’2″ | PG Unity Reed | 2025 VA was a bright spot early. Julian is an ultra-skilled guard with good size. He is a crafty finisher and has a nice mid-range game. His ball handling is terrific, and he is an outstanding rebounder. Julian is a great passer and a plus defender. Julian is a player to watch this summer.

Mekhi Motilewa
Mekhi Motilewa
Mekhi Motilewa wasn’t on my radar to start this season, but he was fun to watch the couple of times I watched him. Mekhi had some big performances this year, leading a solid Rock Ridge team. Mekhi is a great athlete and is very hard to stay in front of. He is a good passer and does well as a driver. His mid-range is nice, and he plays hard. Mekhi sometimes has an issue playing too fast and turning the ball over, but he had a great Junior year;
