Continue ReadingQB1 saw limited minutes in the first half, but finally got in a groove when it mattered most, scoring 10 of his team-high 13 points in the second half to pair with his 7 rebounds. The sharpshooter netted three three-pointers, hitting a pair from the corners. Truell’s at his best as a catch-and-shoot floor spacer but he also scored with his left hand in transition and sank a mid-range jumper off a long rebound. RaShawn is one of the area’s very best shooters. His timely shot making from beyond the arc always gives the Phoenix a chance to rise from the ashes, just ask Benedictine.
The cut lefty is an Energizer Bunny. He likes to push the tempo and use his activity to influence games. Antoine netted a pull-up jumper and a pair of threes, finishing with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Youmans gets good lift on his jump shot and utilizes his vertical athleticism when rebounding and defending.
Every time I watch Kadin play, he provides a massive spark when inserted into the game. In the fourth quarter of Johnson’s 59-56 win, Davis sprayed three three-balls and made plays on defense with his gnat-like quickness. Listed at 5-foot-7, Kadin flew around the court to corral steals and even block shots. He delivered a perfect bounce pass in transition to Josh Quarterman for a monster slam to ignite the crowd. Davis posted 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Michael Polke
Michael Polke
Mike is a steady lead guard. I like how reliable he is with the ball. He doesn’t need flash to be effective. He doesn’t get too high or too low when on the floor. He handles well against pressure and makes good decisions with the ball. When he elected to score, Polke found his points with a floater and on a right-handed scoop on the left side. Polke put up 4 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a 52-37 win over Dublin.
Jesus Quintero
Jesus Quintero
The three-point marksman only netted two threes, but was able to influence the game with his passing, creatively getting the ball to Dom Eason with lobs. Quintero’s most exciting play was an off the backboard alley-oop to Eason. Jesus finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.
Physical downhill guard looks to attack the rim at all times. Needs to improve as a playmaker off the bounce. Has a chance to be a good drive-and-kick facilitator. Finishes with both hands. Went 5-8 from line. Netted a baseline pull-up. Put up 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block in a loss to Dodge County.

Little guard has a high arcing three-point shot. Shoots with confidence. Hit a long pull-up, an And-1 floater and two threes. Netted 11 points.
