Continue ReadingWith the final month of the regular season underway it’s time to update our OHSAA rankings in each Division. We already posted Division I and II and now are onto Division III.
1. Lutheran East (14-3)
The Falcons have dropped a couple games with shorthanded rosters but they are getting back to 100% and have a huge rivalry game against Lutheran West tonight. Wins over Winton Woods, Akron STVM, Cleveland Heights, Richmond Heights and Brush this season.
2. Ottawa Glandorf (14-2)
The other constant from the Division III state tournament the past three years, Ottawa Glandorf has come up short the past three seasons but are looking to get over the hump this season. They have wins over Bluffton, Shelby, Lima Sr and Berlin Hiland this season.
3. Malvern (15-0)
One of the few remaining unbeatens in Ohio, Malvern hasn’t faced too many tough opponents but games against Garaway, River and a challenge opponent in February which will test them for the playoffs.
4. Toledo Emmanuel Christian (12-2)
Wins over Medina and Start show their ability to win big non-conference games. They’ve split games against Maumee Valley Country Day and Toledo Christian, they’ll get rematches with those teams later this month to determine the conference champion.
5. Ashland Crestview (16-0)
Another unbeaten that hasn’t played many difficult opponents this season, Crestview can win in a variety of ways. They beat Ontario 105-94 and Colonel Crawford 40-39. Few teams have wins scoring that different of point totals this season.
6. Harvest Prep (14-4)
Their only losses are to out of state and Division I opponents. With wins over Wheelersburg, Dayton Dunbar, Dublin Jerome and Lake Catholic, they have one of the better resumes in Division III.
7. Minford (12-2)
With wins over South Webster, Portsmouth West, North Adams, and Miami Trace, Minford has been dominant in southeast Ohio. Their lone loss in region to Wheelersburg has to come to Minford on February 9th.
8. Bluffton (14-1)
Their lone loss is by five to Ottawa Glandorf, they’ve beat Arlington, Convoy Crestview and Liberty Benton. We’ll see if they get a rematch with the Titans in the playoffs.
9. Columbus Academy (15-2)
They avenged their lone conference loss with a statement win over Bishop Ready. Wins over Buckeye Valley, Worthington Christian and Whitehall show their consistency.
10. Margaretta (13-2)
The Polar Bears had won 12 in a row before Sandusky Perkins got them. Games against Huron and Willard are games to watch the rest of the way.
