Here were the senior forward standouts from the week
Austin Wallace Austin Wallace 6'3" | SF Valley Christian | 2024 State AZ Valley Christian (Pictured)
A tough wing forward is the heart and soul of the team. He is so tough to handle inside with his strength and attitude. He will dribble drive to the basket and uses the floater game and has a great motor to rebound with a quick second jump. He scores thru contact, makes catch threes and is also a good passer.
Grant Woods Grant Woods 6'6" | PF Valley Christian | 2024 State AZ Valley Christian
A versatile forward plays and defends multiple positions. He can slide over to the wing and then play inside. He can hit the catch three, get out in transition and then score on offensive rebound put backs. He will rebound and block shots in his area and makes smart reads to his teammates.
Devone Pless Devone Pless 6'5" | SF Mesquite | 2024 State AZ Mesquite
A long point forward just got back after two knee surgeries. He is probably playing at 60% of his capacity. He came off the bench and immediately made his imprint in the game and actually finished the game. He scores on floaters and scoop shot layups off the dribble drive. His strength is his defensive prowess and passing. He is as close to an elite passer for his position as you can be. He makes the skip pass look easy and will make passes with his left or right hand right into a shooting pocket.
Taimari Jones Taimari Jones 6'6" | PF McClintock | 2024 State AZ McClintock
A versatile defensive power forward. He is quick to rip thru to the basket and will score thru contact or get fouled. He gobbles up all balls near him and out of his area and he blocks shots in bunches. The Chargers feed off of his energy inside.
Royal Haley Royal Haley 6'5" | PF Cesar Chavez | 2024 State AZ Cesar Chavez
A very good showing for the senior forward. He can score and defend multiple positions. He will score with threes, spin moves in the lane, tip ins, offensive rebound put backs and even alley-oop dunks. He blocks out of area shots and rebounds well. Stock up!
Jay Ralph George Jay Ralph George 6'6" | PF Shadow Ridge | 2024 State AZ Shadow Ridge
A very athletic power forward is a big time rebounder. He corrals the ball at its highest point and covers a lot of space. He runs well and bothers his opponents near the hoop to alter their shots. He scores it primarily around the basket.
Kyle Mott Kyle Mott 6'4" | SF Ben Franklin | 2024 State AZ Ben Franklin
A long and lean wing forward who can score from different levels around the court. He can kiss it off the glass with a contested jumper and is a threat from the three point line with range. He is rebounding better then ever with his bounce and length.
Jenuwine Taylor Jenuwine Taylor 6'3" | SF Cesar Chavez | 2024 State AZ Cesar Chavez
A long wing forward is who their glue guy. He will score on offensive rebound put backs and is super active on the glass. He can collect steals in bunches and moves the ball with an unselfish mindset.
