Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage from Sectional 8 at Noblesville along with eyes and ears in every corner of the state. Let’s sift through all of the results and highlight 10 individual prospects that turned in big performances on opening night of the 114th Annual Indiana Boys Basketball State Tournament.
Julius Gizzi Julius Gizzi 6'3" | SG New Palestine | 2025 State IN flirted with a triple-double finishing with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists as New Palestine avenged a 22-point loss from last Tuesday to defeat Mt. Vernon (Fortville) 58-56.
Indiana All-Star candidate Karson Rogers Karson Rogers 6'6" | PF Kokomo | 2024 State IN started off the postseason with an excellent game scoring 26 points while pulling down 16 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists as Kokomo defeated Harrison (West Lafayette) 69-50. Kansas signee Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN added 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Wildkats.
Eugene Young finished with a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds as Fort Wayne North Side held on to defeat Carroll (Fort Wayne) 79-67 in overtime.
Westview advanced with a 56-44 win over Fremont led by senior guard Luke Helmuth Luke Helmuth 6'1" | PF Westview Jr Sr | 2024 IN scoring 27 points to go along with 6 assists and 4 steals.
Senior guard Aaron Fine Aaron Fine 6'3" | PG Noblesville | 2024 State IN posted a team-leading 18 points to lead Noblesville passed Zionsville 67-49 in the first round of the loaded field in Sectional 8.
Jevon Lewis Jevon Lewis 5'9" | PG Fort Wayne Wayne | 2024 State IN put up 30 points as Fort Wayne Wayne moved past Fort Wayne South Side 74-48.
Brownsburg advanced with a 65-53 win over Plainfield on the back of a game-high 23 points from Jordan Lomax Jordan Lomax 6'3" | SG Brownsburg | 2024 State IN .
Olivet Nazarene commit Isaac Schultz Isaac Schultz 6'7" | C Adams Central | 2024 State IN scored 24 points as Adams Central defeated South Adams 75-52. He is now third all-time on the school’s scoring list with 1,147 career points.
Cole Hayworth Cole Hayworth 6'5" | SF Concordia Lutheran | 2024 State IN , who is headed to Grace, picked a good time for a career-high. The 6’5″ forward finished with 39 points as Concordia Lutheran defeated Garrett 61-44.
