Continue ReadingPotomac had two nice wins this week, and Kenneth Guzman had another nice week. On Monday, he had 30 on 12 shots against Freedom-Woodbridge. He got to the line a lot and was efficient from every spot on the court. Guzman also had 18 against Hylton on Friday in a 7-point win over Hylton.
TJ Bethea is another Potomac player who had a great week. He had a terrific game against Freedom-Woodbridge with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 steals. He also had 11 in Potomac’s win over Hylton. TJ is a good athlete and a terrific defender. He is also a great finisher and is a massive part of this excellent Potomac team.

Daniel Okoye
Daniel Okoye
Daniel Okoye had an excellent week for Rock Ridge. In my game of the week, I wrote about his game against Tuscarora, and he was outstanding. His activity on the glass and his touch were on display all game. He also put in 17 in another close and low-scoring game. This time, Rock Ridge came out victorious.
Riverside has been one of the hotter teams in NOVA recently. After starting slow, they’ve picked up and looked great. Junior G/F Shane Crissman Shane Crissman 6’6″ | SG Riverside | 2025 State VA had a great week. In a 5-point win over Stone Bridge on Monday, Shane had 16 points and knocked down 4 threes. He had another solid game against Lightridge on Wednesday with 15 points, but he had one of his best games of the year on Thursday against Briar Woods. He had 25 points on only ten shots and was the catalyst in Riverside’s big scoring night. Shane is a great shooter and an excellent size at 6’6″. Shane is playing some great ball lately and leading a surging Riverside squad.

DK Moore had a next-level week scoring the basketball this week. In a loss to one of the best teams in Virginia in Patriot, DK had 22 and was part of the reason the game was competitive. DK’s big performance on the week was his record-setting performance in a win over Colgan. He had a school-record 36 points and was utterly unstoppable the whole game. He also put in 16 in Forest Park’s win over Garfield. DK is doing all this while being a great defender. DK has been on a tear recently and was the best player in NOVA this week.
One of the games I circled this week was Tuscarora against Woodgrove. Woodgrove won a hard-fought game in which points were hard to come by. Colin Fuller Colin Fuller 5’11” | PG Woodgrove | 2024 State VA was the biggest reason why, to me. Colin had 20 points to go with 4 rebounds. Colin came in clutch in one of the biggest games in that district. He also had 21 against Broad Run in another monster game for the Catoctin District.
TJ Duggan‘s overtime putback game-winner against Rock Ridge might have been enough for me to put him in here. TJ also had 31 points in a massive game against a great Broad Run squad. Like many players on this Tusky team, TJ is a great shooter and had a great week.
