Continue ReadingSo often we see players outside of Atlanta get overlooked in the recruiting process and Traveion Wheeler Traveion Wheeler 6’8″ | C Westover | 2024 State GA is a classic case of that. Wheeler had good size at 6’8 but plays even bigger at times because of his high motor and tenacity on the glass. He does all the dirty work and typically outruns opposing bigs in transition. There’s work to be done on the offensive end but Wheeler’s combination of size and energy are hard to come by. If Wheeler doesn’t land with a 4-year program, he’d really benefit from some time at a JUCO or post-grad.
Walker Jackson Walker Jackson 6’9″ | C Brookwood School | 2025 State GA has broken onto the scene in recent weeks and should be a very popular name in the coming spring. The Brookwood School is off to an 18-2 start and Walker Jackson Walker Jackson 6’9″ | C Brookwood School | 2025 State GA is a huge reason why. Jackson is very mobile at 6’9 and runs the floor well. He makes for an excellent rim-runner and dunks most everything around the basket. Defensively, Jackson provides high-level rim protection but he’ll be tested this spring against other bigs his size. Jackson’s stock is rising rapidly and when it’s all said and done, he could be a top 50 player in this class.
Valdosta has won 18 games this year and while Israel Jenrette Israel Jenrette 6’10” | C Valdosta | 2024 State GA garners most of the attention, point guard Jabarri Williams Jabarri Williams 5’10” | PG Valdosta | 2025 State GA has played a major role in their success as well. Williams is undersized at 5’10 but he’s a maestro in the pick and roll and sees the court extremely well. He’s a great shooter off the bounce and knows how to get to his spots with various combos. Williams strikes me as the kind of guy that can be dangerous in February.
Isaiah Camon Isaiah Camon 6’1″ | SG Lowndes | 2025 State GA first caught my attention during camp season in the fall and since making the move to Lowndes, Camon has been raising his profile. Camon is a lefty combo guard that does the majority of his damage from the mid-range. He’s got some good pace to his game and his ability to change speeds really allows him to get where he wants to on the court. He’s a capable facilitator as well. Isaiah Camon Isaiah Camon 6’1″ | SG Lowndes | 2025 State GA is one to keep an eye out for this spring as he can give you a show anytime.
Dougherty has been one of the more relevant south Georgia programs in recent years but players like Kaleke Singletary-Jinks Kaleke Singletary-Jinks 6’1″ | CG Dougherty | 2025 State GA still manage to fly under the radar. He’s been one of the go-to guys for Dougherty this season, making his impact felt on both ends. Singletary-Jinks provides a combination of brute strength and athleticism. He utilizes both tools when attacking the cup and finishes well amongst traffic. If he lands with the right program in the spring, Singletary-Jinks could certainly stir up some positive buzz.
